The first time I rang the guy I spoke to was really unhelpful - said I couldn't cancel as I hadn't received the text and that they were still the cheapest network. Anyway I gave up and have just rang back, this time the lad couldn't have been more helpful - I just said I wanted to cancel because they'd changed their terms and conditions. My pac code is in the post. Totally depends on who you speak to!

Let us know how it goes. Thanks

Well it went pretty well been on phone to DialaPhone and they said that I will not occur any charges with them if cancelled contract with Orange as i am over the 7 days period from beggining of contract.

Neither do i have to send my phone back to them. (broken anyway)

I then went back on phone to Orange ... i cancelled yesterday but the woman didnt send my PAC code and i wanted that sent out to me and a lovely woman called Amanda has sent that to my address :) so should be here soon. :T

I asked if i just have to pay this months bill coming and thats it and she said yeah no further payments after that as contract will be terminated.

    Pleased now.

Ok - here's how it's gone for me so far...

I phoned Orange CS and spoke to Girl 1 - very friendly and helpful, put me on hold to speak to disconnections...came back and was told by her, that everyone it seems would/could be affected, so are elligible. However, I must wait for the txt message to come through before the cancelation can be initiated....

Rang back 10mins later, spoke to another nice girl, was advised the same thing (after her cutting to disconnections for a while....) I said that as I KNEW that I was going to be affected, I've been informed I could cancel now without waiting for the txt message. She put me on to disconnections dept and spoke to a nice but very matter-of-fact lady who said her hands were tied by the new procedures for this. I HAD to wait for the txt before they could act - once it was received, there would be no problem.....but NOT until it's received.

I said that I knew for a fact that it would affect me from the end of Aug as I was going to be using my phone as my sole means of communication due to moving to Uni...she STILL re-iterated she was powerless to do anything untill the 'golden nugget' text came through.....which would be NO LATER than Aug 14th!

Despite arguing the toss (very un-aggressively....) for 20mins, she maintained I had to wait for the said txt....
  • *Haven't Recieved a txt*

    Hi

I've read through all the tips on this forum hotukdeals and bitter wallet! I've rung up 4 times in total. Each time i've been told the same story "you have not recieved the txt message from us, therefore cannot disconnect"

They put a note on your account so the next person you ring tells you whatever the last person told you - doesn't matter how nice the person is Orange have obviously started to crack down.

My txt is coming on the 7th of August. Ask when yours is coming - they will tell you!

Not much you can do once your account has the note on it.

    Rubbish.

I hope they don't give me an excuse on the 7th too.

There supposedly staggering txts to save on the people calling their call centers - the guy even said that this had not worked due to people being informed due to the internet, i said in that case what difference does it make and asked why can you not disconnect me now and referred to 16.2 of the T&C's still they declined.

If you haven't recieved the txt yet it's really hard to get them to budge!

Is everyone with a contract on orange to receive the text regarding the price changes? I'm on dolphin 30 18 month and have been for the past year, just phoned up about the message and they told me I'm not going to receive one. I was under the impression the price change affected everyone with an orange contract.
