I've been put of contract because I cancelled due to the changes in the T&Cs. I've received my PAC code and ready to rock and roll. But before I do.
1; Can I upgrade my phones with Orange ?
I've been told by orange that I can't because I've been put out of contract, and some rude woman told me this morning it was also because based on the nature I left ...
2; Can I stay on the same price plan and just have two new phones
1; You can't upgrade a contract you've just cancelled as they've told you your not in contract any more.
2; If your plan was discounted no, you've cancelled the contract everything resets and you need to start again.
I maybe missing something but you seem to be asking if you can cancel the contract but still keep the benefits?0 -
It was me who said about Phones 4U. I went the day after my orange sim was deactivated but told Phones 4u that I had three months of my contract remaining (which I would have done if I hadnt been able to cancel due to the call charge changes). Phones4u gave me £90 cash in hand to buy out the contract, I got a brand new phone and a better deal.0

I don't get you here... People signed up to a contract with Orange and now they (Orange) have scrapped the proposed changes these customers have exactly the same contract they agreed to in the first place... How is this causing them a loss of 'finance'?
Due to your rights not being ahere'd to you are paying a contract that you had a right to leave.Call me cautious, but if I do decide to exercise my right to cancel you can be sure I will be double checking that I won't incur any penalties before I commit to a new contract elsewhere. To not check is somewhat foolish, especially in light of the comments on this thread how Orange CS haven't made notes on accounts when they said they would!
You had a right to cancel. Your rights where denied to you. You had a right to cancel without penatly. Regardless of them withdrawing there new charges, your rights where still not honored. And the situation should be now: You would not be in that contract. So compensation here is what I am waiting for. And the only people who can do that is: Ofcom, CISA or yourself at court.
But the final option is best waited for till Ofcom or CISA comment on the matter. But for now my advice would be excercise your right under the Data Protection Act to get every bit of information that have on record for you. Make explicit mention of the notes on your account, any texts you were sent or phone calls made to Orange from yourself. Ask for all this information to be dated. Also ask any modifications made to your account in regard to your notes. And for the originals (with there date) and the modification (and its date). Remember they have a 40 day calnder period to get this information to you. Email is an acceptable manner to request this. Use customer.services@orange.co.uk as this provides an automatic response which is evidence they recieved your request.0 -

long term lurker first time poster (be gentle!)
i ran orange 02/08/09 in reference to the proposed contract changes and got put through to the most unpolite, arrogant, useless customer service bod (Neville in Darlington!). Was told that even though i had the txt, went over by allowance regularly, and was then confirmed on the phone i was going to be effected i wasnt eligible to disconnect. Had nearly an hour of Nevilles insistence he was right, and in several cases contradicting himself.
Thought i'd leave it a week or so...and now i have a txt like others saying sorry to hear you are leaving... i wish i was leaving! reality is 14months into an 18month contract my phone is faulty, my network signal is beyond poor and i've had enough.
So...someone explain to me whats gone on...having asked directly dozens of times to be disconnected, and subsequently refused i've now got a txt saying "sorry i'm leaving"
nice one orange:T incompetent in the highest order, and corrupt beyond the average MP's expenses claim!:rotfl:
I would call and see if there is any record of your call. There is a chance that Nasty Neville wanted to really stick it to you and put a note on your account saying that you had called to cancel and been told by him that you couldn't. You can then call the Exec Office and say that you gave them notice of termination based on the change in T&Cs, the fact the Nasty Neville didn't agree isn't your problem. Don't know how you will get on but it may be worth a shot, if you have taken out another contract based on the change in T&Cs you should make them aware of this.0 -
Just to let people know I rang Orange last night as not recieved my PAC code, the guy text it to me and said the only way I can leave orange is by porting the number away from the. If I dont do this within 30 days I will be pulled back into the contract on the new T&C's
Yes which is kinda fair. This is you taking some action.
But also terminated should be honored.
One of these situations is what should have happened to everyone.0 -
i rang last night, was told that my pac is on its way but as the 2 CS I spoke to hadn't put a reason on my account (i.e. hadn't stated that the reason i was cancelling was coz of the change in t&c) that i would be charged for the remainder of my contract
I had to argue with him that surely if i was cancelling early there would also be notes to say that i had accepted Xmonths line rental to pay...and that 2 it was ridiculous that 2 people had coincidentally failed to put notes on...he had to go back to this team leader twice but i eventually got the PAC by text and an agreement of no charge.
I now await my final bill...

Have you yourself done this? Also phone Ofcom complain. Get a refence number. Then say what you want to happen. If this is not possible - ask for a deadlock refence. Then go to CISA to pursue. They will look into it and may get you a result.0 -

They offered me a brand new contract which I accepted. Now I've just got a text saying they're no longer making these changes and "would love for me to stay".
Does anyone know what my legal rights are with this. I don't wanna phone I phone them up and them they feed me a load of nonsense down the phone.
Are you not within your cooling period on your new contract? Send it back for now would be my advice.0
