Orange Price changes ?

And the latest news is that Orange are not going to send an apologetic text for sending the incorrect text.
The reason why? .... they think that sending an apology and a retraction will confuse matters!!
So, instead they leave people to buy a new contract, thinking that Orange has decided to cancel the Orange contract after all because they had no legal basis to refuse; when you go on to Orange to check the cancellation, they tell you that they have not released you and will still not release you even though they advised you that you WERE leaving after all.
It is a debacle!!
FACT: We've just been through this with customer services ourselves.0 -

i ran orange 02/08/09 in reference to the proposed contract changes and got put through to the most unpolite, arrogant, useless customer service bod (Neville in Darlington!). Was told that even though i had the txt, went over by allowance regularly, and was then confirmed on the phone i was going to be effected i wasnt eligible to disconnect. Had nearly an hour of Nevilles insistence he was right, and in several cases contradicting himself.
Thought i'd leave it a week or so...and now i have a txt like others saying sorry to hear you are leaving... i wish i was leaving! reality is 14months into an 18month contract my phone is faulty, my network signal is beyond poor and i've had enough.
So...someone explain to me whats gone on...having asked directly dozens of times to be disconnected, and subsequently refused i've now got a txt saying "sorry i'm leaving"

Just rang Orange to check where my PAC is as I requested it on Monday - they said it was generated on the 12th and I will probably get it tomorrow. As I am going away for the weekend, I asked them to text it to me, and was told, bluntly, "we don't do that"... queried this as I know others have had it texted to them and she got shirty and just said again they don't do it and I would probably get it on Saturday - I mentioned again I was going away for the weekend, and she responded "well, you'll get it Monday then won't you" - I know others have stuck up for some of the good CSR's that there are, but unfortunately its dealings with the rude, unfriendly and downright ignorant ones that give them all a bad name.
Soooooooooo glad I am leaving!0 -
I got a text this morning, "Sorry you're leaving, we'd love you to stay", I'm not leaving but I had negoitiated a reduction in my monthly bill. I called to check, they said the bill change was still in place and the text message was an error, seems like they've messed up again and sent it out to too many people.0

I have just received the text, and was one of the lucky ones to cancel. Twice I have spoken to them about what I would like and am being offered elsewhere and they said they can't match it. Is it even worth ringing them again - or will it be just the same thing? They can't even match an offer a third party is giving on an Orange contract!0

Hi,
I've looked through the thread but not sure I can find a definitive answer to my query to was wondering if anyone could help
I rang orange on 31 July and informed them of my intention to cancel my contract. The CS rep i spoke to was very helpful and I asked for my pac code. I recieved it 2 or 3 days later, but as yet, have still not used it to port my number to another network. Therefore my phone is still active. Can I still cancel my contract? will porting my number to say o2 immediately terminate my contract? I also just checked my online billing and my balance is -£186. I'm not entirely sure what that means.
Thanks for any help in advance0 -

I'm in a mess now....i called about cancellation a few weeks ago and was told yes you can as charges would affect me, i took the guys name and ext number who i spoke to. So, I explained i wanted to go to another provider which he said was fine to do, however i didnt want to cancel until i got new contract set up. So, new contract with 02 is all up and running now, I called yesterdayto cancel as previously agreed and now told I CANT!!!!! they have decided not to do the price increase. What do i do?? I cant have two contracts. HELP!! I have to some way get out of the Orange one:beer::T :TThanks to everyone on here for the help!!0

Someone my husband works with got £20 cash back, cheaper called and a brand new phone for wanting to cancel and to be honest they had little growns.
Some people got nothing at all, and others got verbal abuse and lies.
Now they are not changing their prices (yet) but the problems still go one.
I seem to remember someone somewhere saying a phone company (was if phones 4 u) might buy people out ? I like the orange contract and the signal is good for me but the phone is shocking and I could do with another one but can't afford to buy one outright.
It was me who said about Phones 4U. I went the day after my orange sim was deactivated but told Phones 4u that I had three months of my contract remaining (which I would have done if I hadnt been able to cancel due to the call charge changes). Phones4u gave me £90 cash in hand to buy out the contract, I got a brand new phone and a better deal.TOTAL DEBTS

i dont like phones4u but that is a good dealWhat goes around-comes around0
