These so called 'customer service' staff are hardly being advocates of their organisation, and have no doubt put many many people of using orange ever again in the future - I for one will never use orange again, as much as they are sticking to what they have been told, they should still treat every case respectfully in a polite manner, This is hardly setting a good example for them!

Just had a 40 minute conversation with Orange, At first with a guy called Shaun (30862) who offered me a £20 credit. I said I would not accept this as it could be seen as an acceptance of the new charges. And then he put me through to the area manager Iyub. Still no joy although both understood where I was coming from. One other thing I pointed out to them though was that in the last three months chances are most people have been on holiday for at least two weeks so wouldn't be using the phone anyway.

It boiled down to Iyub saying I could either accept the £20 credit and they will do me a good deal when I renew my contract (far better than the one I am on now apparently) or I could put my complaint in writing. Guess what one I chose...

    Correspondence Department,
    PO Box 10,
    Patchway,
    Bristol,
    BS32 4BQ.

Slightly annoying that I now have to put it all in writing.

Hi, I actually wrote to this address...twice. Never received any response within two and a half weeks and when I called, surprise surprise, they hadn't received my letter. If you are sending it, I would recommend paying extra postage so that they have to sign for it. Or use the email address provided a few posts ago (sorry I didn't have time to find it as I'm just popping out) but it was for some chief executive I think. Good luck :)
  • AND! Just another point, it's kind of amusing that orange's customer service is getting worse. Maybe they should consider why so many people are trying to use this as an excuse to get out of their contracts and away from their ridiculous service!!

Yes I have to say I agree with this comment. I'm sure working there isn't a barrel of laughs at the moment but they need to remember they're speaking to customers.

One guy I spoke to told me he was just a 'middle man' in all of this and couldn't do anything. Middle man! No you're not, you're a representative of Orange. If you can't do anything then put me through to someone who can!

Agreed with the customer service comments, the manager and 2 of the women i had were nightmares. the Manager especially talking over me and belitteling me all the time.

i hate to ask again but anyone know if the midnight disconnection is immidiate at midnight ?

Just with regard to people saying about the agents being rude. I have now spoken to four different members of staff including one manager and they have all been pretty polite.

Bear in mind that it's not their fault, They are only going along with the guidelines issued by the legal team, whether the guidelines are right or wrong are irrelevant. When I spoke to the manager he said he wouldn't usually let a customer be transfered through to him it was only because the agent said that I was polite to him that he said it would be Okay.

I know so far I haven't got anywhere but if someone was shouting at me down the phone I wouldn't exactly want to help them out by cancelling their contract.

Just out of morbid curiosity, just how many of you who have/are about to cancel are going to sign up for another contract with Orange?
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

I amn't! I was complaining of poor signal since the start of my contract and tried many phones and two sim cards but they said because I had gone over the 14 days I had accepted that service and therefore had to put up with it. I can't make calls and texts come 2 hours later, which they think is acceptable! I used this as a way of getting out of it to move back to 02. I know that there are nice people at orange somewhere but the customer service I've had is pretty rubbish so will be swaying people away from them now!

It's a little unfortunate that people that genuinely want away from orange are unable to cancel and others are using it for a new phone but then everyone is within their rights to cancel!

After canceling my contract, got a letter a couple of days laterr, telling me orange did not want me to leave.

So i phoned up the number on the letter. got offered 33% of what i was paying a month, a brand new phone and internet also.

So i decided to stay as i get quite a good reception from orange.

Simax, I was with orange cancelled contract yesterday, was contemplating whether to go back to them as I have never really had any problems with them, anybody else in my position would do the same thing to get out of a contract and save a bit of money with the deals that are out there and in the process getting a new phone.
However seen a great o2 deal which i think i'm gonna go with :)
