    Hey All,

    I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while - I have been reading though.

Now for me to sound like a crazy hypochondriact (sp?) - I've had this stomach/womb pain/ache since yesterday now. Today it's actually stopped me doing anything fun with DD as I don't feel great when I'm stood up. I've got this persistent pain on the left hand side about womb height but then I also have this stomach achey thing as well which is at stomach height (it feels like I've been punched repeatedly in it). I've taken some paracetamol for the pain & the sharp pain isn't as bad but the ache is still there. I've managed to get myself all worried about the possibility of it being an ectopic pregnancy - which I'm sure is all in my head - and surely I would have been in pain a lot earlier than 6wks+4 if it was?

I feel sick 24 hours a day and although I'm grateful for symptoms (miscarriage pregnancy didn't have any) it's turned me into a bit of a moaner - sorry :o

I had sharp period type pains at around this point in my pregnancy too Nikabella, and a small amount of spotting and the obstetrician was happy that these were just normal stretching and bedding in pains, but he did arrange a scan for me at 6+ weeks just to reassure me. I am paying for private care though, so this wouldn't necessarily be offered on the NHS, though it might be.

If you are at all concerned though, it is definitely worth a call to your GP just to check things out. If nothing else it will put your mind at rest that all is OK. An ectopic pregnancy isn't something to be left waiting, so if there is a chance that this is what you are experiencing, you should check it out.

    Thanks, Nicki.

Maybe I'm just sick as my OH thinks I have a temperature too. I will see how the pain goes & if it's any worse tomorrow I will ring the on call GP or NHS direct. I was originally going to pay for a private early scan next week but then decided I wouldn't as it didn't mean I still wouldn't have a miscarriage, however, if the pain continues without getting worse I might rethink it.

Paracetamol has started wearing off after going on for 4 hours and the left hand sided pain is still there - it's going to be a fun evening :(

I had really horrible pain (right side) and awful cramping throughout the first trimester. Do you have an early pregnancy unit you could go to just to make sure everything is ok? My cramping continued throughout the pregnancy with some contractions later on, after that i started taking 500mg magnesium supplements and it really helps with the cramping.

My seabands, reflexology and 50mg Vit B6 have worked wonders with this pregnancy for sickness. It's the only one i've not been sick AT ALL! I've heard the Morning Well CD is really good for sickness, i know the Natal Hypnotherapy ones are good so i can understand how it could work (got mine 1/2 price on ebay, i don't buy anything full price lol).

I got some great news this week - i'm getting my home birth on the NHS! :) Unfortunately i can't deliver in the pool which is what i really want, but i'm not sure it's worth paying a private midwife sooo much just for that element. My other concern is that the NHS are only allowing me to go overdue 6 days for the homebirth, so i hope after all the earlier problems and contractions he doesn't decide to stay put for too long!! I'll be using hypnotherapy, massage, aromatherpy, TENS, music and movement, counter pressure, (preparing with perineal massage, RLT, and EPO) and of course the birthing ball and the water pool for pain relief. The statistics for using a Doula are really positive too, so am looking for one just now. Only 6 weeks to go!!

    As for buying things we have;
    - Bath and changing mat - cheapest ones from Ikea (family card gives free tea & coffee too :) ). Will make own bath products and was given a top&tail
    - Disposable nappies and wipes - 6-7 weeks worth, on offer in Asda baby event
    - Clothies - from ebay, 1/2 RRP new
    - Assorted small towels - instead of muslin cloths, £3 for a bundle on sale
    - Tommee Tippee electric steriliser £25 from Asda baby event (inc 3 bottles, brush and sippy cup)
    - Tommee Tippee breast pump £10 from Asda baby event (for occasional pumping)
    - All baby clothes from newborn to 6 months
    - Receiving blankets - £1.49 each from Ikea
    - Baby gym - £5 as new from ebay
    - Activity mat - freeshare
    - Baby bouncer - £4 looks new, Mamas and Papas from ebay
    - Pregnancy cushion - 12 foot one from ebay, £40 delivered (Fab!)
    - Extra bump cushion support - freeshare
    - Baby sling - home made Moby Wrap, just 6 meters of fabric from shop!
    - Travel system - given to us second hand in as new condition, may just buy a seperate new car seat. It doesn't have a carrycot, but then won't be using for over 2 hours at a time in the beginning anyway so should be ok

    Still got to get
    - Moses basket - for lounge as i have mobility probs, will try and get on freeshare or buy from gumtree or ebay used and get new mattress
    - Arms reach co-sleeper - to have baby right beside me, again cos of mobility probs. Again buy used and get new mattress. Will sell this to pay for cotbed
    - Bedding
    - Monitor, going for the Tommee Tippee movement sensor £53 from Argos

    Think thats everything!

Wow Myaccount looks like your well organised :D I already have so much stuff I've been stock piling hehe. I plan on going through it today and seeing what I have and maybe getting rid of some of it. Then I can make a list of what we still need, followed by what we want. Need and Want being two very different things on a budget. Once we have all the Need suff the rest will be a bonus. Saying that though I already know we have some luxuries like an MP3 speaker for the cot! hope it fits the cot.

Electric pumps are grand if your expressing on a regular basis but other wise a luxury if its only for occasional use and your mainly breast feeding, but thats just my opinion. TBH the whole malarky is all down to personal preferance and what you get on with.

Hehe i'm sure baby will appreciate the sound system Somnium, lucky things eh, i think the best we had was an old tape player with some lullabys or the delights of my mothers voice lol.

My SIL might be giving us her LO's swing so we haven't bought one yet, but i see Argos were selling the Mamas and Papas starlight one (with the light show and MP3 player) reduced from £100 down to £30! By the time i got the emails to say they had more in stock there were none left again :(

I used a medela electric whilst in NICU, but with everything going well with this pregnancy i'm hoping to be able to exclusively breastfeed and won't be offering a bottle till after 4-6 weeks to avoid nipple confusion and b/fing problems. Even after that time i'll only be pumping occassionally so DH or the grandparents can do a few feeds and let me get some sleep :) I'm sure we'll manage with hand expressing or the manual pump (and £10 reduced from £25 isn't bad!) - but if it doesn't go well then i'd definitely get a medela again.

Good for you myaccount hope it all works out for you. That M&P swing sounds like a real bargain wish I had gotten a look in hehe. Well the MP3 player was reduced so only paid £8 for it so a bit of a bargain.

Well never got around to sorting baby stuff but did a whole heap of other stuff so thats good, maybe will do sorting when we come back from boot sale tomorrow :D
