Pregnant after Fertility Issues / Long Term (12m+) TTC

Hi all! I was on the 12+ month thread last year (after years of trying w/PCOS and endo and many losses) and we got our BFP in January after a few reflexology treatments and baby aspirin. I was on the pregnancy thread for a couple of weeks, but i couldn't keep up and rarely come on here anymore. I'm delighted to see more of you got your BFPs too! :T I hope everyone is having/will have fantastic and easy pregnancies, i think we deserve it after all the heartache of TTC for so long!
I just skimmed the thread, and all i can remember is; Folic acid - i still take it sometimes as it's involved in all cell division so might aswel finish that box. I make sure to take Omega 3-6-9 fish oils for babys brain development, particularly important with all the new synapses created in the third trimester. I also take magnesium supplements to avoid preterm labour again and it helps with cramps. Calcium is important in the 3rd tri too, as is Vitamin D as it helps prevent PPD.
I'm hoping to breastfeed for at least 6 months, and will be using reusable nappies (after the initial 6 weeks or so). We live in a very small place with no dryer, but have enough nappies to last and 1/2 of them come out practically dry.
I'm aiming for a home waterbirth too, although being high risk (though not with anything that needs managed during labour) i'm struggling to get what i want - and what's best for me and baby. I can't take medication nor have an EPAN so since i'm going natural anyway i really see no point in hospital! I'm about 33 weeks pregnant now and hoping to find out next week if they're approving the homebirth.
The pregnancy has been tough but better than previous ones. I've been on bedrest throughout and can't walk due to severe SPD and pelvic pain. Had some preterm labour in the second trimester and a few other problems. Generally doing ok though, as long as our little man is alright then i'm happy! I'll be starting the raspberry leaf tea next week and need to step up my hypnobirthing practice...
I'm not very well with various complications so don't get online much, but wanted to say hello again and that i wish you all the best with your bumps0 -

I'd be really interested in your home waterbirth experience, if you do get the chance to have one. I would like one myself, although DH is worried and I was wondering if we'd need to warn the neighbours as I don't like pain and nothing short of epidural worked last time.I really love the idea. I don;t know anyone who has had one though. I don't think I;d have a waterbirth in hospital though; doesn't seem so private.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Hiya Myaccount - nice to hear from you and glad your 'bump' is prgressing well, even though you sound like you are having a bit of tough time of it. If I remeber rightly you got your BFP around the time I had my last one in Jan, so you must be due quite soon! (I deliberately 'forget' the date I was due after we lost the little bean, as with #1 we lost I got so upset about the time it should have been due). Hope all goes well and that you are able to pop in from time to time and let us know how you are doing.
Somnium - I know how you feel about the scan - great news that Beanie #1 is doing so weel, but I understand there's a little sadness that #2 didn't make it - we have that too. I have tried to kind-of console myself in thinking things like: that twin PG's have more problems, would cost a lot more, be a LOT more tiring!, and that DH & I would have a problem getting back to our walking - one baby in a backpack and one rucksack of stuff is managable with the two of us, but if we both had to carry a baby and stuff... well I know some of the 'reasons' are a bit daft but it helps!
Glad you had a good boot sale and got loads of bargains! The ones near us a rubbish so I may have to try looking further afield (ha ha) perhaps in some 'posher' areas!
Well, we got the car! DH did a good deal and we pick it up Friday, but not a good PX on his so we are trying to sell it privately, which is a pain! Am starting to be a bit worried now as we thought it was the same size externally as his old one, but having checked the specs it is a bit bigger - it won't fit on the drive so it's gonna have to live on the road! Should have looked before (we normally would) but I was smitten (which is rare for me with cars - normally I don't care one way or the other!).
My waist is expanding already Nottlass! I read that I shouldn't start to chagne shape until 11 or 12 weeks, but here I am at 8 and I put a summer dress & some leggings on on Sunday and DH came in and looked so shocked - 'OMG you really LOOK pregnant!' he said - bless him!
and Why is it called 'morning sickness'? - I am getting it every afternoon! or that just me being awkward?!?!
Hope everyone having a good week!

Hello all,
Hope you are all well ?( apart from the [STRIKE]morning[/STRIKE] afternoon sickness FE) I tried ginger nut bisciuts, ginger beer and those sea band things,I think that they helped a bit.I was never actualy threw up,but omg the nauser !!!
I 've got my glucose tolerance test tomorrow.I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with DS,so they are going to test me at 14 & 28 weeks - because of the risk of me getting it again, I've got to try and not put too much weight on , that's easier said than done as I've gone up 2 dress sizes already !
My problem is that I'm soooo tired at the moment & when I feel like this I crave sugary stuff - I just need some will power.
OH has managed to borrow a car from work so at least we're mobile again.
As its my day off ,I'm going into town to see if I can get some holiday gear as I'm off the Majorca in a couple of weeks.:j0 -

The only thing that worked for me I'm afraid was a bucket by the bedside, a large bath towel, and a husband willing to wield a mop when required!
This time round I had it on and off for the first 4 months, then it eased off, and came back at around 25 weeks for a few weeks. Seems to have eased off again a little now, to the extent that I am not actually vomiting, though I do tend to feel queasy in the evenings and find it hard to eat much. I actually lost 10lb in a week when it started again at 25 weeks and since then I have only put about 2lb on again, when you would expect at this stage (31 weeks) to be gaining about 1lb a week I think!0 -

Poor you,But they do say that the baby will still take all the nutrients that it needs, even if mum is "chucking up" for England.
Wow,only 9 weeks to go.
I seems hard to believe that it was actually less than a year ago that the original TTC 12m + thread started.
The tread has had more than its fare share of ups & downs and heart ache, but now we are finally getting ready to welcome our "first born" :j
Take care nicki & I hope you're feeling better soon.
