Aww FE big hugs hun, my probs seem so small atm compared to yours. Yes the job thing sounds like a real fix and very unfair :( I hope you and your mum can sort out your differences, have never argued with mine so must be an awful feeling.

    Hi Ladies,

Just popped in for a nose.

I had 8 years of treatment (all a failure) before getting pg naturally (yippee).

I just want to congratulate you and wish you all the best.

I really enjoyed my entire pregnancy so don't worry if at 40 weeks you feel absolutely fabulous - I never felt huge or comfortable I was too busy enjoying it.

FE - ((((((hugs))))) about the work situation I went through something similar earlier this year - fortunately the job wasn't being relocated just reallocated IYSWIM.

    Hello ladies,
Got back from sunny Majorca yesterday (bump now very ice and brown)

Anyway I've just been catching up with everyones news .

FE - sorry that life isn't being very kind at the moment,a woman in "your condition" could do with out the extra stress !! Are you in a union ? is there anyway you can be re deployed elsewhere ? (sorry, you've probably thought of all that)
The OSCAR scan sounds like the NTT test that I had at 12 weeks - they only offer it if you are over 39 in our health authority. But if you've had IVF you can have it regardless of age - this is because the blood test for Downs isn't accurate after IVF treatment ( due to all the extra hormones)

Enjoy your holidays - the canal boat sounds lovely & relaxing.

Nikki - I don't want to know what flavor we're having either (I've waited this long...)We were thinking of having a 4d scan done, but are worried that the sex may be obvious & spoil the surprise !!!

Sominum -I'm rhesus neg as well.I can assure you that its been no problem for me - I didn't even feel the Anti D injections after birth !! They seem to have changed things a bit since I had DS,they now give the anti D at 28 weeks as well as at birth. I'm also suffering with headaches - I'm trying to up my water intake, but seem to be spending half my life on the loo !!!

Hope everyone else is fine and looking after themselves - esp you myaccount - not long to go now.

I suppose I'd better go and get on with the post holiday washing now,as I'm back at work on Wednesday !!!

Natslass - so good you had a lovely holiday, am jelous of your tan, I very rarely get one :( Not so worried about the AntiD injection, its the thought of baby getting ill from my genetic disorder that is though. OH had his blood test this morning and I'm booked in for mine tomorrow morning at hospital, so we should know soon.

  • Hi everyone!

Nice to hear from you MDW & thanks for the congrats!

Glad you had a nice hol Nottlass - I'm jealous too - I never really get brown without using fake tan!

AFM - well I've been MIA as I've been off sick - the HR dept have been messing me about so I decided I could do without the stress for a couple of days! Wish I hadn't come back today though as it's all started again... they wanted to teleconference with me this afternoon but I told them I'm still not 100%, so they have put it off until tomorrow. Then next Weds I get to have an interview for one of the jobs, even though I am darn sure I won't be offered one! Wish I could afford to just tell them where to shove their job!

At least mum is talking to me again...

Hope you and your bumps are all well and having a good week,

    FE -x-

    Hi FE,
Have a look at The working families alliance website - it has some info on redundancy whilst pregnant. You never know you may find something of intrest- it appears that there are slightly different rules.

You said (i think it was you:confused:) that finding reasonably priced maternity clothes in larger sizes was proving difficult - have you tried Simply B ? They have some reasonably priced stuff, although not a massive selection !!!!!!

Has everybody joined the Boots Baby/ parenting club yet ? You get a voucher for a free changeing bag (worth 29.99) I haven't picked mine up yet but it looks Ok for a freebie !

Woohoo good news this end OH's blood tests came back all ok clear so no repercussions on bubs :D Am so pleased, and my own came back ok too so no iron tablets required. Think its the pregnacare and all the veg and fruit I eat :D

Notsslass - haven't joined the Boots baby club and not sure if I will, I already have a changebag that was bought by a friend for us :) But will look into it. Have signed up for a few others though, SMA and Cow and Gate for example :) Will also check out Simply B am all for a bargain :D

FE - I hate that your work are giving you such a hard time, I hope it gets sorted and soon. It must be hard not knowing where you stand when you want to make plans for the future. Good your talking to your Mum though.

  • Thanks Somnium - & congrats on yours & OH's bloods - what a relief!

Thanks Nottlass - I'll look at that website. I'll also have a look at SimplyB. I got another couple of tops last w/e in a sale at Blooming Marvellous in Marlow (was visiting a friend) - their stuff os lovely but usually really expensive, so I was pleased at 2 tops for £7 & £7.50 each, and even more so at a maternity swimming cossie reduced from £30 to £6.50 - am I the bargain Queen or wot!?! I'm hoping to use the cossie this w/e as we are off to Bude & staying in a holiday park which has a heated indoor pool!

I've not got around to sending off all the stuff in the Bounty pack to join all the clubs yet - but my friend (who is due #2 in Nov) picked up her changing bag from Boots at the w/e and it looks really good, especially for free! It has a changing mat in a sepapre bag inside, which she says is really good if it gets messy when you are out and you can't clean it properly (and her son, my godson, used to do some really messy ones I can tell you!).

The OSCAR was great! - even though OBie was still not totally behaving! S/He was waving and kicking at first - amazing to see the amount of movement, when you can't actually feel it! Only thing was S/He was lying wrong to get the Nuchal measurement! So the consultant (really nice man!) tried an internal, but still no good, so back to ultrasound and S/He had finally moved to exactly the right position!
I went from a downs risk of 1:139 (due mostly to my advanced years of 39!) to 1:2784, which is brilliant and a great relief!
Everything else was spot-on as it should be, and we got to hear the heartbeat which was the 1st time we've done that.
So I was a very happy mummy-to-be today!

Hoping for some nice weather in Devon/Cornwall this weekend! Have a good one all!

    Ginge -x-

To those ladies thinking of having a 4d scan, I would say go for it. I had one at 27 weeks with DD and it was lovely seeing her face and watching her move etc.

The first words out of my mouth before even lying on the bed was that I didn't want to know the sex so the sonographer just made sure she didn't go there.

Just think of the fun factor you can have with them as they grow up, showing it to partners etc :rotfl:

Early days but total shock. Have crohn's and previous abdominal surgery meant it was not supposed to happen again. Anyone any experience of PND? Had it 1st time
