OOHH Nicki - getting close now - I am really excited for you!
Glad I read your post, as I was really upset and down and it has cheered me up. We have had yet another upset with Dad - the whole gory story is on the OS Daily thread, but basically he's refusing to even go look at the home Mum & I have finally found which is suitable for him, has space and are actually willing take him!
We have until Friday to get something sorted, or have him re-sectioned at a more serious level under the mental health act IF the psychiatrists will do this. Otherwise his 28 days is up and he has to leave the secure unit he's in now and go....well God only knows where - I certainly don't! I feel like screaming at the frustration of it all! Mum had just started to turn the corner and feel better - now she is back at zero and really depressed again over this.

That sounds grim, FE. I don't read the OS thread, and don't have time to go now, but will check it out later. In the meantime huge hugs. It is really really hard when those you love are not able to make good decisions for themselves, whether for Mental Health or other reasons, and I feel your pain!0

FE - thanks for the well wishes for tomorrow am really excited now, especially at the thought of bean looking more like a real baby
My NHS exemption card took 11 days to arrive so you might have to wait a lil longer. Sorry to hear about your Dad, hope you can get everything sorted out, its stress you really dont need atm.

Hi Ladies & Bumps!
Just made my first 'real' baby purchase! 'Won' a pine swinging crib on ebay for £19, we're going to pick it up tonight.
DH a little annoyed I think, as he didn't want me to start getting stuff until after the 20wk scan - but I'd told him I was scattering bids on Ebay on anything which was on my list and would be a bargain! The identical crib new in our local 'baby shop' is £89, so it's definitely in that category!
We decided last nite that we are going to go for the OSCAR scan too. Maybe it is daft of me, but I just can't stand the thought of going another 9 weeks or so without a check on OBie to make sure that he/she is OK, and DH said if we were going to have the 'reassurance scan' privately, then we may as well pay the exta £20 and have the full OSCAR done. Got to book that later today if I can.
Hope everyone doing well - can't wait to hear about your scan Somnium!

FE- what is OSCAR have never heard that before? Also have booked in for a growth scan at 18 weeks, so dont have to wait till 22 to find out sex. MIL wants to take us to Baby Show at Earls Court in October and would be nice to know sex so can maybe buy a few bits hehe. Also really wouldnt worry about buying stuff, I've bought soooooooo much already dont think there is much more to do in terms of essentials. And the crib is such a bargain
Well scan went really well, and baby is measuring just fine. Think he/she must have been asleep at first tho because was in an odd position and had to keep lying on my side to get baby to shift. Then turned into a right wriggle bum and kept moving making a good pic a real chore, tho we got there in the endThey pushed my date back to the 4th March which was my original EDD and was told it shouldn't really have been moved as with IVF its not such a guess as they know whne we concieved lol. She also mentioned that IVF babies can measure a bit bigger as they have a better start in life
Had bloods and measurements taken for down syndrome testing, altho midwife did say my readings my be out of whack as sack from twin two is still presant, and I may need another blood test, but not to worry. Also got her to take my blood pressure as was concerned that could be causing my headaches, but its fine and she said PG could trigger miagraines if you suffer from them, also to drink even more water eek! am already drinking about 2litres a day.
On a not so great note got home to find letter from booking in blood tests and seems Im RhD negso anti D injections for me later on as a precaution. Now just gotta tell OH and try not to get him worried, as he does so often!
Sorry for the me post, hope everyone else is well xxBaby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

Somnium - glad the scan went well! I just don't seem to get through to the NHS staff about the IVF thing - so I just go with my original date as well!
OSCAR (One Stop Clinical Assessment of fetal Risk) is the test wehere they take bloods, weight & measurements (of mum!) and do a scan on babe to get the Nuchal Fold measurements, and ask you loads of questions...then they whack all the data into a computer and come up with the likelihood of babe having downs, edwards or pateus syndromes. It has to be done between 11 & 13 weeks and is more accurate than the blood test which the NHS will do at 16 weeks to assess risk of downs.
From your post I am guessing that maybe you had that done today anyhow? Was that on the NHS? They don't do it on the NHS at all in my area, but in London where my friend lives she could have it on the NHS if she was over 40 - but she's 39 like me so had to pay for it herself!
Ditto on the water - I was trying to get 2 litres fluids in me a day (a struggle for me!) but was told I should be having 2.5 to 3 litres! Apparantly from around 11 weeks you start to make more blood in readiness for supplying the babe, and this means you need more fluids (and can also cause dizzy spells and headaches, and changes in blood pressure). I'm already weeing for England as it is LOL!
Thanks for the info re the NHS card - I'll be 'a patient patient' a little longer then! The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"

FE - yup thats what I had done today, so unfair you have to pay. Here I'm guessing its offered as routine as am only 32. Seems the trust where we are, are really on top of things. Was just reading info on there private ultra sound dept and seems they were one of the first in the country to go live with it. There Mat department seems dead swish too hehe.Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

I'm having the 12 week scan in a week's time, but am not having the blood tests/risk factor bit. I went thro amnio and cvs last pregnancy and DS was ok in the end; don't want to have to make a decision on those procedures again. Just want to confirm there is a baby there as it's feeling unreal.
Went away for a weekend break by the sea, and my symptoms were virtually non-existent, but been feeling more sick since we got back. Anyone else had that where you're better on hol?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. So I'm having a weird week, yesterday morning was on a real high after having my 12 week scan and getting to see bubs again. Then The RhD- thing which turns out to be no biggie. Then I get home today to find another blood test result, I have a heamaglobin dissorder! No risk to me, but if OH has one too then could be real bad for baby. So far feel ok but OH is getting worked up about it and in turn stressing me out. Just wonder whats next!Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

Oh Somnium Hun - how irritating/worrying for you. Wish I had your PCT though, the care level seems so much better than mine!
I'm getting stressed out by loads of stuff, home and work, at the moment, and worrying myself that something is going to go wrong....having a bit of a paranoid day I think!
Have booked the OSCAR for next Thurs 27th, then we go away with the SK's on Fri for the BH weekend, then we're back 4 days and off on the next Sat for our canal holiday! - in between I've now been told that I'll have an interview for 'my' job, which is moving to Birmingham (I'm in Bristol!) and there's 3 of us for 2 jobs - and the other 2 are already working, guess where...Birmingham! Does this seem like a fix to you at all?!?!
More probs with my dad too...and to cap it all I rowed with my mum last night and now I don't think she is talking to me!The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"
