The comps posters deserve their thanks. Each competition they post give mse-ers a chance to take part and therefore possibly win something and save lots of money.

Those who put into their signature what they have won don't exactly appear to be making great improvements in their financial welfare!

What sort of comp prize "saves lots of money"? I know, I'll go and post a thread suggesting everyone buys a Lottery ticket .

Saving money when winning a competition seldom gets one out of debt, but it can make the difference between having a treat (sometimes a hefty one) or not.

Only yesterday I saw a competion where one could win a substantial amount of good quality artists materials. As a keen painter, I'd be very happy to win that loot worth a few hundreds. Or a while back there was a comp for £250 vouchers to spend at a shopping centre near me. I doubt I'll win either of them and maybe no mse-er will, but the chance has been given to us. For that I'm grateful, and clicking on the thanks button is the least I can do.

Then there are those who win weekend breaks and holidays. Not to be sneered at, surely.

Sorry if I touched a nerve Quasar, you are far more au fait with the Comps board than I am. You're right, I shouldn't mock it. I know there is someone on there (sorry don't know name) who works very hard to compile details of virtually every comp that crops up, and that is to be commended.

It's just that some of the prizes make me go "what? " lol.

LOL no you haven't touched a raw nerve really, in fact I'm very seldom in there because there aren't that many comps that interest me. But some users I know have won some nice breaks. I expect there is something for everyone, and imho a chance to win something deserves thanks, more than saying hello in the arms... ;)
