As far as post counts go, I think that they should be removed from the public view along side the users name and Avi etc on each post and only made available on their profile.
This would remove bragging rights and mean that the viewer would need to be determined to find out rather than a casual viewer to a particular thread.0 -
To be honest ~ your being very vague. If you cant post any actual examples then its completely meaningless as weve no clue what your talking about
Its not allowed to bring up individual cases/users in a thread. If i was to post anything along those lines i would probably be banned, its a bit of a catch 22.0 -
I think you will find they can - but save it for another thread.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Only just spotted this, I think the main suggestions are definitely a positive move and pro-active to the forum's current and [no doubt over the next few months] future expanding membership.0

On the issue of do the team respond to emails concerning individuals. Yes to an extend, that is what abuse@moneysavingexpert.com is - that is my team to deal with the forum
What we cant do is guarantee to respond to posts on the forum itself - one of my frustrations is occassionally i spot a "why hasn't martin responded" buried on page 14 of a thread on the ninth page of one of the 80 boards!
40 paperback books a day of info are written here, there's no way we can see them all.
Plus of course we will not discuss individual posters in relation to abuse issues in the forum - nor are threads on it permitted.Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

I think these are all really positive changes, I've been getting so annoyed with the nastiness on the boards recently. It's only a very small number of people who get involved, but it does affect things for a wide number.
It's tough though, the site's so popular now you are bound to have disagreements.
too many comps..not enough time!0 -
PPR=new trolls.
Not always, but in most cases, more so if they are a long standing poster (good or bad) that feel ‘wronged’ by being banned.
You cannot block via IP's as not many in the UK have a static IP, so you would block the next ‘innocent’ party to get that IP address
And not all AE's are bad; some do it for the benefit of the site because they become a target.
Just a few random facts/thoughts.They claim their labours are to build a heaven, yet their heaven is populated with horrors. Perhaps the world is not made, perhaps nothing is made?
Its too late, always has been, always will be.

I know we have an ignore function, and I don't know if anyone else would be interested in this, but a block function would be nice. A "real-life" tormenter of mine monitors my posts here and makes comments about them elsewhere. Being able to block individuals from clicking on your profile (thus preventing them searching all your posts) would be welcomed; obviously, for example if I'd posted here and said person was reading here, they could see my post, just not click on my profile. Generally speaking though, would anyone else like to see this? Not sure if it's even doable...PS I won't report this person as they've done nothing wrong here (the minute they do, I will)0
