Hi Guys, I got a free flight to Florida Orlando -- With Virgin.
Im booking my husband to come with em and the wee man (the dates are on the cheapest days so far) flying 9th- 17th Jan 2012... into Orlando from Manchester. Im canadian and haven't been to florida apart from Daytona beach and it was spring break -- sooo it was kinda hazy lol.
Our child is 2.5 and we would like to not do the disney thing just yet. as this flight was a surprise I didn't have time to save up so we are going to do other things. I have set out a "plan" but all help would be appreciated!!
Orlando 9th - 11th Lego Land and Seaworld during this time.
Tampa Bay 11-13
Naples?? 13th (looking for somewhere to stop just to break up the driving)
Miami 14-16th
Orlando 16th (airport location as we fly out the next day)
Looking to hire a car from Netflights.
So im open to suggestionsanyone wanna give me a hand with planning or suggestions.

I have now received my tickets from Orlando Attractions and the countdown begins.
Can anyone suggest a place to have Christmas lunch? I have seen a few suggestions, but it all sounds like it is going to be so busy. I think we are going to do the Disney thing int he first week then avoid it for Christmas week. We have tickets for dinner with an astornaut at kennedy, boggy creek and wonderworks. We are a family that don't like queues and crowds so probably not the best time to be visiting LOL. But any suggestions of nice places to eat would be great. We are staying at Mango key in Kissimmee.0 -
Does anyone done the Disney Dining Plan for a family of 4?
Is value for money?
Or would be cheaper to pay as you go?
Cheers

Depends on what plan and where you eat.
For example, Cafe Mickey is $40 which is £31 and DDP for the day is £34 so you can get a counter meal and a snack for just an additional £3 (will cost you around $12 to buy) so it'll be a saving.
With the counter meals we only buy 2 kids meals and 1 adult meals because there is so much food the kids cannot eat it and I share with the kids. It is a waste otherwise - I hate chucking food in the bin and it is usually too hot to eat anything substantial. We tend to pick and qith the Quick Service plan you get 2 snacks each day. We are toying with getting this for our next trip.0 -
Do you mean buying a camera and LT over there to use when you come back here? If you do, IIRC the voltage over there is half ours, so you'd need a transformer (or whatever they're called) to charge them over here. Plus you'd have to pay import duty on anything that expensive.
I bought a camera in the USA (Olympus compact) and never had any problem charging it and no problem bringing it back to the UK.0 -

We have done Villa de Flora at GP the last couple of years with Snow and Ice also..this year it is Shrek the halls..which looks great. We are having dinner at Raglan Road this year for a change.Bit of a Florida Fan :j
