  • Has anyone been to the 3D movie at Gaylord Palms? I want to know what time you get there as we are having lunch at 1pm but dont know if the 3pm movie is too early, as it is the whole experience with Puss arriving so not sure if the movie starts at 3pm or you need to be at the red carpet at 3pm? Anyone know? Thank You
  • Hello all,

I go on Tuesday to Florida - Cannot wait!!!, We are going for 10 nights, I just had a few questions I wondered if people can help with

In my booking info it says the hotel take a credit card imprint, is this just for if you want things charged to the room - like Euro Disney do? or is it for damage to the rooms? We have no interest in charging stuff to the room so if its for that its no matter and we dont have a credit card between the two of us so will they accept debit card imprint/cash? how much is it likely to be?

Also we have the mid dining plan and are planning on taking $2000 dollars with us ontop of that, from peoples experience is that enough?

Do I need a car in Orlando? It's just me & DD & though I'm s confident driver I would prefer not to drive in America if I don't have to. Last time I went to Orlando & drove the other drivers out there petrified me! There were torrential downpours every afternoon for about an hour so heavy you couldn't see & when the rain lifted the roads were litterally littered with crashes! If they can't handle rain I really don't want to be on the road with them! It worried me!

Planning to stay in Disney's All Star Resort, would like to do all of the Disney parks, Nasa, Sea World & one other, maybe Busch Gardens or the crocs or something. But mainly Disney & Nasa.

Airport to hotel transfer I would presume is free both ways, getting to all the Disney stuff I would think is easy by bus / monorail / cab / walking etc?

Getting to Nasa I can book a day trip...

Do I really need a car? Would it make life that much easier or cheaper?

Also is it worth booking excursions here instead of waiting till we get there?

:wall:This has been asked, answered, debated and discussed dozens, if not hundreds of times .......

    In summary:
Some people will say they would never consider going and not having a car
Some people will say they've never driven, never would, never felt it necessary and that it's perfectly do-able with a mix of public transport/shuttles/taxis

The long and the short of it is... it really all boils down to personal preference.

You will find all the different discussions/arguments/points of view already given in the thousands of posts on this thread, and the previous two, by doing a search :)

  • Hi guys,

Thought I'd post on here as we're flying out to Florida mid April 2012 and in the process of buying all our park tickets. We have our Disney tickets sorted, just need Seaworld, Busch Gardens & Universal now & have found it cheaper to buy them separate rather than buying the 6-park flexi ticket as we don't plan on doing Aquatica or Wet'n'Wild. Hoping to buy them asap before they hike the prices up yet again lol.

Now, what I'm asking is.... where is the cheapest & most reliable place buy 'real tickets':

    1. Seaworld/Busch Gardens combi ticket 2012

    2. Universal/Islands of Adventure 2 Park Bonus ticket 2012

(if they throw in Kids Eat Free Cards too that would be helpful too)

    Thanks!

hi, the first time we went to florida we hired a car and had no problems driving from park to park,
the 2nd time we went we couldnt hire a car as dh had a operation on his hand 3 weeks before the holiday so relied on taxis and to be honest it cost us less than than the year before hiring a car/insurance/petrol/parking fees.

so when we go next year we wont be hiring a car again, when we went last time we got one drivers cell number and used him for the rest of the holiday, we text or rang him 30 minutes before we needed him and he was always there waiting for us

for busch gardens you can book the coach which picks up from various locations, seaworld you can either get taxi or the lynx bus
