    Hi

Were all going to Orlando in October 27th for 14 days and everything is booked apart from Tickets to the theme parks which we will get abit closer to the time.

My question is we are staying at a different hotel than the last time we went and wondered if anyone had stayed at this hotel, its the Orlando Metropolitan Express.

Also last time we went (2 years ago) Walmart cashed travelers cheques is this still the case?

On the car no car debate last time we never had a car and stayed in hotel on IDrive and it was fairly easy to get around, the I trolley was brilliant and we also had free transfers to all the theme parks which was also ideal although we were told what time we had to leave in the morning and what time we had to leave for the ride home after but other than that it was very pleasant. We even ventured to places like other malls and walmart on the busses and that wasnt a problem and even gave us chances to chat to locals instead of tourists which was rather nice. This year we getting a car purely because we also want to visit Clearwater beach and a couple of the state parks, Blue springs looks good so if anyone has visited them id appreciate their views.

    thanks again in advance!!

have you searched on trip advisor for hotel reviews?
not sure about the travellers cheques i always find it easier to use my nationwide card to withdraw cash.

    Hi all

just looking about at tickets etc for our trip in Sept/Oct and came across this on another board (thanks to Orlandobelle on the Dibb board). It gives you free dining at Bush for a single day ticket up until the 30th of Sept

    http://www.buschgardens.com/Bgt/CP/?page=Play%20and%20Dine

Only works if your just going to the one day, but I think that's what we'll be doing as we're just going to go for the 2 park ticket as been to Seaworld etc before.

    Hope it helps someone!

    Hi Everyone

This morning I looked on Travel City Direct and have found some amazing deals but Im a little worried that they are to good to be true. I have read some mixed reviews about booking with them and would really like some advice if any of you have booked through them in the past. I know they are with atol and abta but would still like to know Im booking with confidence.

    All advice welcome

    thanks everyone x

you should be ok with TCD they are now part of virgin holidays and use virgin flights.
for florida though i would also have a look at booking things seperate, villa flights and car it can work out cheaper in most cases so worth checking before booking anything.

  • Hi guys, some flight advice needed now. I'm looking to go at the very end of August/ start of Sept and the best fares i can find are £460ish with KLM/Martinair. This is flying from Newcastle (my local airport) to Orlando.

Anyone think i'll get any cheaper than this in the next couple of weeks or should i just go ahead and book? I can fly from elsewhere but it wouldnt really be worth it cost wise unless i can get prices under £400

Does anyone know where can I get Kids Ugg Australia boots, please? We want to go to either Premium Outlets or Florida Mall. Thanks.
Not readily available and if you do find them price is not much cheaper than UK. Was told by a sales person last year that because of the Florida weather locals dont wear them. Some shops get them in just for tourists so you may be better getting them here. This is true for all genuine Uggs not just kids.:A

I just booked our trip to Orlando for next May/June (3 adults and 1 child) and cannot wait to get there ! :) We own a "vacation ownership" at Sheraton Vistana Villages since 2001 and go about every second year. Booked the Manchester-Orlando flight with Virgin. Flight prices gone up obviously since last time so that was a bit of expected disapointment. But the thing that really annoyed me was that I had to pay £60 (!)
just to be allowed to pay with my credit card. 60 pounds !!! I can get a ticket with Ryanair within Europe for that...

.... and to add to my frustration I forgot to use Quidco when I made the booking  (and I am always so good at remember to use that - suppose I was too excited about booking the trip that I forgot to use it). Had I used it, it would have covered the above charge and more.

So if anyone else is thinking of booking with Virgin - remember to use Quidco for your cashback so you avoid my mistake
  • Hi there i will be visiting Orlando next month with my fianc!e and im wondering if any of you fine folks have any info on where to find the cheapest tickets to get into the theme parks. The Disney website is doing a offer of 14 days unlimited entry for the price of 7 for £225 but im more interested in the nightlife at citywalk universal.

    Anyone found any cheaper deals??

    Regards

    Ty
