Well contacted A&L this morning as I still have not received any confirmation email from them regarding receipt of my complaint. Good job i rang them up the day the letter was delivered for my complaints reference number.

Lady of the phone said they had resolved it today and she could she anything on the system to what they have agreed to. Basically told me to wait and see what the letter says
    Fingers crossed for you Kev.;)

Kev just give them a bit of time they are inundated with similar requests. It is better if you can get this sorted at this level rather than FOS which could take up to 18 months. Be consistent and fair with a smile on your face when you talk to them if you see what I mean. People have posted on here that if people are nice they get better treatment than if they get grumpy etc. Do you see what I am saying. I am not saying you have been nasty at all. Use all your charm:D

Well I called again this morning as I was none the wiser and to my amazement they have settle my claim according to the lady I spoke to, or so they think.

Been offered 568.88 for a 5k loan!!!! Please tell me they are having a laugh!

Sounds like this is a goodwill gesture!

I am waiting for the letter which was sent yesterday to arrive, so I can get the full story.

Should I take this or ask for more.

Kev 568.88 for PPI on a 5k loan does not sound too off. Hopefully when letter arrives you will be able to post figures up. Or are you saying the PPI element was 5k??

I am sure the original loan was for 5k, plus what ever the PPI was and surely it was more then 560 pounds. Still I am chuffed I am been offered, if they letter says there are not in the wrong, they sure are if they are offering a good will gesture.

But will need to see the letter first

    Will do.

Main concern is me not accepting the amount they have offered, then asking for more and then end up with nothing.

You can always negotiate if they make an offer and it is goodwill and not all the amount .
