We do not know if you were given suificent information when purchasing you PPI, so we would like to offer you a refund of 577.78.

I hope the letter is in the house when I get in so I can tell you what the break down charges are.

Yeah post the breakdown and the loan details etc and perhaps someone can take a look. Were you expecting £2500??? If you settle early sometimes part of the interest is rebated and also the premium too. You need a breakdown of the settlement if this is the case of when you settled the loan... or if not settled then they should also reduce your monthly payments too.

Yeah loan was settled early, will post figures this evening, is it worth refusing the first offer and asking for more?

    Hiya Kev

I would write to them as soon as possible and ask them for the full figure of PPI of what was actually paid into the loan, like what Marshallka said you do require this to make sure.
Ask if they can post them out to you over the next 5-7 days the latest as you want time to think about this.
You do need to know the full amount what was paid into the loan on settlement and the PPI.
If they had stated they will put you back in the position as if you did not have PPI, then they would have to refund you the lot of PPI you have paid, plus the interest, you can also request they pay out the 8% interest of what a court would award as well.

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Account number XXXXXXXXXX

In regards of my loan taken out on XX/XX/XXXX, and settled on XX/XX/XXXX, please could you supply me with a Full written breakdown of the calculation of the settlement as soon as possible.
I would appreciate if you could post these calculations to me within 5-7 days.
Thank you and I look forward to receiving my request as above for the requested time.
If you cannot supply me with the above, please write to confirm, thank you.

    Yours sincerely

Kev, the only other way really is to request a SAR to be honest, as they must send everything as requested on this and any loans you have taken out the information would be provided, however this may take 40 days though.
But you are entitled to see your information, if your not happy and your sure there is more to come back, I would personally tell them your not happy with that amount and expect for them to offer you a more reasonable amount, of course you can always take to the FOS if needs to be.
This is just an example of what to write to them, hope it works for you.
Hope this helps Kev and do write to them today, post by recorded delivery, so they receive this by tomorrow.;)

Is it worth me reading the letters first as they should give a full break down surely?

Yes do that Kev and they "should" give you the full break down.
It was like one of mine that was resolved through the FOS in the end, the FOS told them they must provide me with the full written breakdown.;)

Well according to both A&L and AA they have provided a full breakdown on the letter, which I hope I have received today. I am suprised at how quickly they both have made a offer and how both are pretty much identical offers, just seems like the basic fob off to me.

    Hi Kev

Do you remember the full figure of what you actually paid to settle the loan, when you paid this off?
