CSA to raid bank accounts?

I've seen it mentioned on here that the csa are going to start taking money out of people's bank accounts. Is this really true?
So a NRP and partner have saved some cash together for a house deposit. Can the csa take it?
NRP needs a new car to get to work.CSA takes savings, leaving NRP unable to get the car?
What do others think about this?

Yes they are able to. They already have some pretty big powers when it comes to viewing an NRP's finances.0 -
Not according to the enforcement team in Dudley - they denied all knowledge of any such legislation - I even offered to quote the statutory instrument to them, but he said that even if the law was in place, there were no plans to roll this out. Same day, I read on NACSA website that they are trialling it from August with a view to rolling it out after about a year!!! I will bring this to his attention when I speak with him tomorrow.0

i suggest anyone who is being persecuted by the csa should not own anything, not have any savings etc, they have already been delving into my bank account and credit card details, they know how much credit i have available on my card and how much money i have in my bank account already, fortunaly my £30.52p current account isn't enough for them and i own nothing, i believe if your bank account is in joint names they can access that also, it realy is a case of hiding anything you value under the mattress and buying a big guard dog, i wonder when they will start to go after my ex, who has 3 kid, all by different dads and has been living off of the state for the last 16 years, she should be forced to work to pay back some of the taxes she has intentionally taken form the state because she is
a) too lazy to work
b) has never had any intention of going to work
c) deliberatly had 3 kids by different dads in order to get a council house and ensure a steady flow of maintenance payments through her letterbox every month
its a sad sad day when we have to hide our posessions from the government for fear of them stealing everything we have worked for, if they were to rape my wife also it would be just like living in the middle ages again, i wonder how many more NRP's will commit suicide due to these draconian measures in the coming years?0 -
Yes they have accessed a joint account that I HAD - exactly,I closed it the minute I found out what they had done, I now do not have a bank account, credit cards or any savings accounts and I don't even own a car, I have a hire van for work purposes and a car I borrow at the moment. Unfortunately, my mortgage is in joint names with my partner, so they have also accessed this info, but this is creepy the way they can access so much info on pepole, to my knowledge they do not have my inside leg measurement as yet, but dare say it won't be long ??????0

bdt1,did the csa tell you what accounts they were looking at?0

i only found out that they had been into my accounts when i recieved my incomplete records requested from the csa, it was buried amongst a few hundred pages of rubbish, stated 1 bank account and one credit card wih a £3200 limit which is clean, after which they phoned me and tried to make me pay on my credit card, despite knowing that i am on benefis and unable to repay such a debt, did you know that the csa are NOT a government department and are in fact a run for profit company registered with dunn and bradstreet?0

I can understand the people who pay up being upset about it, but look at the other point of view all those awfull parents who wont pay for their kids Hiding away thousands of pounds and living the high life. I know for a fact that my ex earns and has plenty more money than he has ever let on he changes his car every couple of months even factoring in finance agreements its still gonna cost him at least £1000 everytime he does it yet he claims he is broke this is beside the expensive holidays (last one was 3wks on safari in kenya) and hobbies he has he thinks nothing of spending £600 on an RC car (my kids havent had a holiday for nearly 4 yrs as i dont have the money to afford it). My maintenance payment should be at least 50% more than they are but I can manage on what he pays and dont want to rock the boat for fear that i would end up with nothing as he has threatened more than once to jack his job if i do. It still greives me though.
I honestly think this action should only be used as a very last resort though after every other avenue has been followed and chased but it should still be used.:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
I fully agree with what you are saying about PWC who get nothing at all.But will the CSA use it in difficult cases like there's?
Or will they go after NRP who have always payed and have incured arrears through no fault of there own?0 -
I fully understand that and would never condone the use of such facilities for people who pay up as i said it should only be used in very hard core cases that refuse to pay. If this is going to be rolled out they need very strict guidelines to work from. But as its the CSA you just know it will be a complete disaster from start to finish.:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0
