I am now back from hospital and chilling out on the couch. I had a HSG not a hycosy. I took 2xibuprofen half an hour before.
The worse part was they couldn't get the usual tube in because I have a tilted womb. They tried another one and that wouldn't get in either, so she used something else I don't know the name of. So TTC40, you were right. All that messing about was uncomfortable but not painful. She reassured me a tilted womb is 'normal' and wouldn't prevent a preg.
Then they put the ink in which I didn't really feel and took some pics. Took literally 5 secs. She said my tubes are fine (and then gave me a massive sanitary towel!)
Now I feel totally fine apart from a bit of bleeding. So for anyone else doing this in future I would try not to worry. She said period type cramping is the worse you can feel and that's usually only if your tubes have problems.

My HSG wasn't horrendous, but I won't be rushing to have another oneI had a lot of cramping while they were injecting the dye and she couldn't get it to go down one of my tubes so I had to roll over. Quite uncomfortable as I was very 'tense' if you get what I mean.
Just to reassure you, everyone's womb is tilted one way or the other. 85% of people have it one way, and about 15% the other or so I have been told. Did you get to see the pictures they took? I have a bicornuate uterus so it looked quite pretty on the screen! :rotfl:
Glad you are feeling ok though and that your tubes were fine. Whats the next step for you?14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

lilymay - ouch, sorry yours didn't go quite so smoothly. it's hard not to be tense! I mean, you have some kind of contraption shoved up your bits with a lady peering down trying to squirt ink inside! Not a very relaxing experience. I did get to see the pics but couldn't make head nor tail of them to be honest
what does bicornuate mean?
next step clomid, presumably pescribed end of feb when my next appointment is. The doc told me that was the next step if HSG was ok. So I'll be on the clomid train with you... bring on feb!0 -

Oh I love it when I'm right. Only kidding, everyone is different but I'm pleased you seem to have had a similar experience to me.
Hope that we'll be off the Clomid train when you get on it.0 -
