    Question ladies,

Is there any possible way that inseminating using a syringe would be better than doing it the old fashioned way?

I don't think it's better but it's definitely a viable way to achieve a conception.

Runner - I have everything crossed for you, really, really hope this is good news xx.

Had an emotional weekend. Not sure whether it's clomid related or christmas related... probably a bit of both. Saw a beautiful little baby girl try to pull Santa's beard off yesterday, she was really going for it! Was v cute and funny but definitely brought a tear to my eye... as have most things the last few days.

    Good luck tomorrow runner :)

Lilymay, I doubt a syringe is more effective than the natural way - the ideal is to keep it in receptive environments, surrounded by warmth and appropriate fluids. I would've thought making sure you climax just before/as he does would be more beneficial for getting it past your cervix, as then it turns into a sort of suction device.

I feel like I ov'd today. Strong ov pains this eve and cm has only just disappeared. Cervix was still pretty SHOW yesterday and this morning, so I think the cbfm might've been a little premature with the peaks.

BZ - frustratingly I think it does differ and can be a matter of hours to several days for cervix to drop after ov

Mine never really gets "high", so can't give any input I'm afraid.

It currently feels so low that it might actually fall out though...

  • Thanks for your advice ladies.

I am now back from hospital and chilling out on the couch. I had a HSG not a hycosy. I took 2xibuprofen half an hour before.

The worse part was they couldn't get the usual tube in because I have a tilted womb. They tried another one and that wouldn't get in either, so she used something else I don't know the name of. So TTC40, you were right. All that messing about was uncomfortable but not painful. She reassured me a tilted womb is 'normal' and wouldn't prevent a preg.

Then they put the ink in which I didn't really feel and took some pics. Took literally 5 secs. She said my tubes are fine (and then gave me a massive sanitary towel!)

Now I feel totally fine apart from a bit of bleeding. So for anyone else doing this in future I would try not to worry. She said period type cramping is the worse you can feel and that's usually only if your tubes have problems.
