You can get blood in your urine through UTI's so it might have been that. If there is blood in your urine tho it is a really bad infection and may lead to a kidney infection if left untreated. If it was me I'd be heading down for a sit in until I got an appointment.
I was under a consultant for mine when I was younger (don't get it so much now I am older as I can recognise the symptoms really early and usually avoid it). They said it might help to pour warm water over yourself while weeing or wee in the bath, as its the acidity of your wee which is stinging you, and diluting it though drinking plenty and weeing in water if you get me might help. I don't know whether I would be able to tho to be honest. I don't think my body would let me wee and pour water over myself at the same time.
It might just be random spotting tho, but with the pains you are getting I would defo be trying to get an appointment asap.Married my lobster in July 2011

Do your GPs not do emergency appointments tealover? 3 weeks sounds like the wait for a routine appointment but most surgeries hold back appointments on the day each day for emergencies.
Acute pain, blood in urine and a track record of kidney infections sounds like decent criteria for an emergency appointment to me, or at least a call back from a doctor.0 -
I think I need a new GP. They just never seem to have any appts. I know quite a few people that go to the same place and they all say the same - we all wonder who's getting all these appts so the rest of us can't get in!
I'm not sure I could wee and pour water on myself either! Just one of those things my brain would try to stop lol. It's not a stinging/burning pain as such, more like a deep bruise inside. It's fine when I start to wee, but freaking painful at the end. And apologies again, as I'm sure none of you wanted to know that!!
I had endo removed from my left ureter in 2010 and I'm wondering if that's kicked all this off.
Looks like it will be a visit to the hospital later then.0 -
I tried to reply earlier but my phone lost it
Tealover - I was wondering if it might be your endo making it worse. Blood in your pee is a serious symptom - I would be ringing your emergency doctors for this evening if I were you. Did you tell them you needed an "emergency appointment"? (I don't want to be patronising or anything, but some people just aren't brash enough with the gatekeepers to the holy grail GP receptionists) When I can't get an appointment, I get DH to drop off a sample of pee first thing, for me. Then I can ring later and get the result and find out if I've been prescribed the antibiotics - could you do that next time? It only takes them 5 seconds to dipstick it, there's no reason they couldn't do that for you!
ETA: blood in your pee is usually either a sign that the infection has gotten to your kidney(s), or that endo may be in your bladder...? I had a ream of tests last year when I was getting frequent UTIs - maybe it's time for you to go for them too?
Abis, I would've thought that the level of progesterone they're looking for is what they're expecting at 7dpo (which is when they assume cd21 is) - so maybe a count 22 is about right for the dpo you were? Iyswim? In any case, try not to get in too much of a tizz about the numbers - it went up, and you've obviously ovulated previously, and you know your cycles are irregular and don't fit into their perfect little tick boxes
Also, when I've had cd21 tests fall over a weekend they've told me to go on friday if saturday was cd21, or monday if cd21 was the sunday - so I'm surprised you went on the friday cd19
Mrshappy - I'm excited for you, but can understand why you'd be overwhelmed - I feel overwhelmed just thinking it might be in our future, I'm not gonna lie
Runnerduck, you're still in my thoughts - hope you're not going to batty
I'm sure there was something else I was gonna say, but I typically can't remember
At least with my ovulation being delayed I won't be away at the end of the 10day/2ww - I should be home to test or get AF"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Abis - My CD21 tests were <1. I have a 27-29 day cycle so they took that to mean I wasn't ovulating and referred me to the hospital. I tried to explain that I knew I hadn't ovulated yet (I think I did @ CD23 that cycle) but the GP just kept repeating "if you have a 28 day cycle, you ovulate on day 14". I just nodded my head in agreement in the end.
From the research I have done, prog levels of 22 @ 3dpo is absolutely fine! Anything above 10 confirms ovulation I believe, and the number is slightly higher for a medicated cycle. But of course, I am not a clueless GP following little tick-boxes....14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
Thank you bigzippy and lilymay. I did a bit of googling in the end and then read that it was meant to raise within a week of ovulation (don't know why I didn't work out that CD21 tests come 7 days before your period)
So I think maybe a bit of unnecessary panicking from me this morningSorry guys
I don't like not understanding things and I wasn't prepared for them to say to do a retest at all - I just thought it had all worked out fine (I have such an optimistic brain I always think things are fab and then get a shock if its not quite as I had planned
)
Lol that you nodded your head in agreement in the end Lily. My doctor was quite good but told me that luteal phases were always 14 days exactly, and it was only ever the front part of your cycle that changed. Which I know is mostly right, but she was very hung up on the 14 day thing (altho I do think my luteal phase is actually 14 days so I shouldn't really grumble about this)
BZ - I was surprised I went on the friday at CD19 too when I had explained I was a late ov'er. I think I had an annovulatary cycle last time.
Thank you again ladies. Much appreciated :beer:Married my lobster in July 2011

Got my FS appointment at 11am today.
Can anything think of anything I need to ask? I've written a list of questions I have, results I want to discuss, what the next steps are etc etc but is there anything else I've mentioned on here?!
My mind has gone totally blank14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
Hi Ladies,
I have finally found some time to myself here, and have my laptop rather than the phone, so can catch up a little.
Tea Lover - I would say that sounds quite bad, and hopefully you have seen someone about the UTI already. The solution normally for me is lots of the crystals that de-acidify the urine, or as suggested - lots of cranberry juice. I think that reduces the pain, and allows your body to start healing rather than just giving you lots of pain. And a UTI does feel like a deep down bruise pain when it is bad. Don't let it get worse!
And huge congrats runnerduck.
Lilymay, I'm too late to help now, but hope you got some questions. I am strict with myself now and always bring questions as I never have anything to say otherwise. And I am starting to learn to ask more questions, even when I think I know the answer. Sometimes the doctors do know things that google doesn't (shocking I know!!)
AFM, well it's been a quiet few weeks since the shock of the weeks before. I'm starting to convince myself that things will be ok, and it may just be something relatively small that can be fixed. However, I am starting to accept that fertility will be the cost, and attempts to keep it will just make things harder.
The options I (think I) have are:
1. Remove cervix only if it's not spread far. Plus some radiation and chemo. They can move the ovaries out of the way for the radiation, not sure of the impact of the chemo. Try to carry a baby myself sometime in the future.
Outcome: Possible to carry a baby, but high risk pregnancy - due to radiation damaged womb, and high risk of miscarriage due to missing cervix. Probably won't go through menopause. Risk of cancer not being properly cleared out.
To be honest, if I am lucky enough to get some eggs, I don't think I would want to gamble them on me. So I would probably try to use a surrogate regardless, which makes all the effort and risk to keep the womb not worth it. But, looking at surrogacy, it's not easy, or quick. Much like IVF - it's not the magic solution it may appear to be.
2. If we get eggs, just remove the lot (other than ovaries) and hit any cancer hard. Accept we can't have a baby ourselves, but we will find a way to have a family.
3. Pray it's all a mistake, and that the tumor is really tiny, and one more cone biopsy will sort it out, and this is all a drama over nothing.
As you can imagine, I have a lot of eggs in basket 3!! Although I am trying to be pragmatic.
Telling people over here has been pretty harrowing, but it is also starting to feel like it's all happening in another world. I'm here with all my family and friends, in the sunshine, getting ready for Christmas, and the idea that I have cancer seems preposterous. I think I am headed for a fall in January.
In other TMI, my stupid period is never ending. It's been 12 days, AND I am on the pill! It stops and starts, but I have ruined about 3 sets of undies, and some shorts... feeling like a silly teenager. Normally it's 2 days. The consultant says this is normal, but its very annoying.0
