!
I tease my OH about getting a moon cup - I sing it to the tune of the moon pig card advert and tell him that I'm going to empty it in the plant pot in the lounge (according to their website it makes good plant fertiliser!).
TMI coming up......
Lilo - I was wondering about CM, I haven't bothered checking as I thought I wouldn't get any now but I think I will start! lol. My periods go on for about 2 weeks but I don't count it as day 1 until I get full flow - it is bizarre I get a bit more than spotting for about 10 days which I don't count and then they are really really heavy for 2 days then it's all over! Very frustrating being 'prepared' for 2 weeks!!AFD May 8/150 -
On a different note, what are all your views on alcohol and ttc?
I keep reading about how even social drinking (1 - 5 drinks a week) can affect fertility but this is the one I am struggling with.
I've given up smoking, so far have reduced my BMI from 36 to 33 and still losing, I run 3 miles 3 times a week, swim once a week and have a personal trainer come round once a week to put me through my paces.
Part of me thinks I'm going to have to cut it out completely - maybe this is the thing that's been stopping us for 3 years but the other part of me thinks !!!!!! I work hard, I'm doing everything else right am I just getting completely obsessive about it, don't I deserve a bit of a break. OH is refusing to do this anyway which makes it all the more difficult (as well as not giving up smoking which is completely frustrating me).
All views/links to articles etc would be appreciated both to help me and to convince OH!!
Edit: Forgot to say also take my folic acid and OH takes some supplements and generally eat healthily.AFD May 8/150 -
Morning all,
Well, my brother and I managed to get the lining papering done yesterday so am aiming to paint walls. Just floor to go down and we fit the new WC! My elderly parents will be thankful they don't have to go upstairs to the loo any more!!! It will be a relief to clear the hallway of the tools and decorating paraphenalia.
Lilo - you are welcome to some of my (unusual) high energy anytime!
Shelly - I just pinch the cup to remove mine, so you can trim the stem if you need to. (OK, last TMI note from me!)
Welcome Looloo to the group, I echo what everyone else has said and good luck on your journey.
Ref CBFM, I found it a relief that I was getting a confirmation that I was at least ovulating, as the NHS failed to provide that for me with all the tests. I agree it does take spontaneity out of life, so we don't use it religiously.
Have a good day everyone. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

WARNING!! This post contains TMI!!
Since surgery my periods have definately changed. I used to bleed heavily for 4-5 days with a day or 2 of spotting before and after. These days though I can have anywhere from 1 day to 7 or 8 days of spotting/dbs before full flow starts, then 1-3 days of full flow with one of those days being so heavy I can literally feel it flowing out. I get a lot more pain during full flow too.
I spoke to my consultant who did the surgery and he said he could go back in and try to make it better but chances are it could get worse  No thanks I said, better the devil I know that the devil I don't:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

This is how mine have been over the last few months - but the spotting is gradually reducing - I only got it for 2 days this month, but the period when it came was not much - it has been heavier earlierI also get bloating/swelling for the fortnight as well which is causing my leg problems. My consultant is looking for hormone imbalance so I am hoping it will sort. I may go back to acupuncture.

Shelly, just read your post as well. It would appear then that the spotting is common then if nadine is getting it as well. The full flow sounds horrible, big hugs for you going through that every month, but I know what you mean about better the devil you know... TBH I dont really worry what my periods are like so long as it can support a pregnancy but I am just a little concerned that the lining may be too thin, but I suppose that will be established when I have my scan and trial ET next week. Its not easy though, is it!
Thanks to you and nadine for your replies, I just feel like Im flapping in the dark most of the time, and noone seems to have any answers. Theres nothing better than real experience!
Cheers girls - liloLive on £4000 a year again for 20110 -
Hi Lilo.
Know what you mean about nothing better than real experiences.
Though all the specialists I have come into contact with during this whole cancer experience have been fantastic the only answer I really get to my questions are 'You might experience this' 'You may experience that'. I know that's because we are all different but it's nice to be able to ask others who have gone through the same thing if what we are feeling and experiencing are normal.
Hope all goes well next week for your scan and trial ET.

I dont really drink so this wasn't an issue for me but did have a diet coke habit of at least 2ltrs a day which I have kicked. Hubby drinks at weekend prob at least dozen bottles lager and smokes around 7 ciggies a day. I have not really moaned about this. Have him taking supplements and making improvements to his diet. But he is going to get tested for 1st time later in month so if results are bad then he is just going to have to try and quit or at least cut down. (although he says will steal a baby rather than give up lager. I really hope that he is joking when he says that :rotfl:)
Just wondered does everyone try to eat organic I am changing things like pasta, rice tinned toms etc but is so expensive with veg / meat etc and difficult to get in my local supermarkets.Yearly Grocery Budget - £100.77/ £3500. January Treats Budget - £11.80 / £100.0 -
hi Hamish/nadine - I must admit I have cut alcohol right down but not altogether. I probably have 2 to 3 glasses of wine per week. I used to drink much more, but cut right down - then got pregnant with DS. I dont know, but I think that my drinking although not a 'problem' was too high for me and was what was causing my problems then.
I dont specifically buy organic, but I rarely eat processed food (I do buy organic for this so that the ingredients are actual ingredients IYSWIM) and I buy all my meat at the butchers and veg at the veg shop. However, I have a takeaway problem - latte coffee, mcdonalds, starbucks. I am trying to be good but ....... so I really undo all the good.
I am not really sure whether there is a right or wrong answer, but whenever I read fertility books, they always recommend simple organic food, minimise additives etc, dont use plastic bottles and so on. They cant all be wrong, but equally I cant rule my life by it IYSWIM. So I tend to try and be as good as I can, but dont beat myself up about it!
I have been good today and been swimming, I have started low - only 4 lengths. I wanted to do more, but my legs started to hurt and that defeats the object. So I feel all virtuous now! And a nice stew for tea - must polish my halo!
Hope all are well - liloLive on £4000 a year again for 20110 -
I am with hamish - I don't really drink. I don't like wine much and anything else jsut stinks to me (including most of the wine). I might have half glass once in a while, but it wouldn't be even called 'a unit a week'.
I have to say, I decided to ignore the caffeine advise. I have a cup of coffee at home in the morning, and I might have a cup or two of tea at work. I usually drink camomile at home in the evening (just the habit we got into with OH - with a spoon of honey...). To be honest, I remember sitting at the table at our friends wedding in nearly 2 years ago (!!!!) with a few pg ladies, and they were having coffee. When I shared my info from UK about 'no caffeine', I can tell you, they were laughing. Honestly, you wouldn't get Italian to give up coffee and they all are fine. (No, I am not Italian - but my OH is)
I know I need to up my veg and fruit intake, but I just can't be bothered... It is a bit harder when I am feeling down...
Oh, and it seems this Clomid month is not successful either. Had a bit of spotting today (CD27) and I am getting AF type pains. Last Clomid cycle was 31 day long and I had 4 days of spotting, so I am pretty much 'on schedule'....Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
