oh ladies i'm freaking out :(
rang to chase the SA results yesterday, got a phone call back today saying 'sorry, had forgot to fax them, will fax them now' all fine, but then she says 'you're only seeing the consultant in march, are you still ok with that?' and i asked why and she said cos i'd called about the results. so i said well my cycle had gone out of whack again but seemed to have come back so we'll give it another month and see where i'm up to. so she said 'yes that's fine, so you're going to the GP to discuss the results and if you have any concerns we can move your appointment forward'.
    ....
does that mean she knows it's bad? or is she just feeling guilty for forgetting do something? or just thinking march is a long time to wait and she's trying to be lovely?

TL - you can second guess all day but until you've got the results it won't really get you anywhere (other than v stressed, for which I am sending big hugs your way). Is she sending them direct to you, or to your GP?

Can you get a phone consult between now and then, for the results TL? I don't like the idea of you stressing for a week...

    Tea, good to know :o

How annoying - having food so close and yet so far!! Hopefully will be all good news at the GP appt and the consultant's people were just being a bit over-thorough.

Is this the first SA? The results for SA can vary so much more than a lot of our tests, so even a bad result doesn't necessarily mean bad news long-term. There's loads of things that can affect one result (diet, illness, tiredness, etc). Fingers crossed it's all fine but if it isn't a great result this time, don't panic! He'll grow a whole new load of sperm in 3 months anyway lol.

Aww you're so lovely BigZ, now have an image of me ringing the doctors 'my friend on the internets says...'

DH and i have had a quick chat about what's really bothering me - we're currently renting and saving up for a house and have said that if we have to pay for treatment considering we're quite young (both 26) we'll wait a few years so we have time to buy a house then save up enough for fertility treatment. so i'm worried that if the results are bad then it'll be a big fat no for years and i don't think i could cop with that. but he's just reassured me that we'll consider all options if the time comes and I'm happy with that :)

Thank you Tea lover for your advice, it's very reassuring, it was the first SA. i just remember it seeming like there was so very very little in the pot when i saw it and he's had two operations on his special area - groinal hernia and undescended testicle x x

lilymay - AFAIK (and the usual disclaimer here, I'm not a dr, this is just my experience, please check this info with your dr), clomid can help with prog. levels, and with LPD. As it can help produce "stronger" eggs, you're left with a "stronger" corpeus luteum which provides the prog. levels during the LP.

Obviously this doesn't work for everyone, in the same way as clomid won't induce ovulation in everyone. But it is used as a treatment for LPD by some drs - sometimes in conjunction with prog. itself.

When's your next appt? I'm sure you've said but I have a complete sieve brain at the moment. I hope it all goes as you'd like x.

Thank you for the info my lovely. I didn't realise clomid was sometimes used as a treatment for LPD. I know that opinion is very divided amongst specialists as to whether or not LPD even exists!

Next appointment is Dec 7th so not too far away. Week on Friday actually, and as it's at 9:30am hopefully the clinic won't be running too late! I hope it does too :o

Teamlowe - I HATE it when you're left in doubt about test results. You remember my mini panic attack after my bloods thanks to the receptionst and her "urgent" remark. Erugh! I echo what everyone else says...can you speak to someone to put your mind at ease? I know OH's 2 SA's varied massively despite us not 'doing rudies' for the same length of time before both. One was just normal, with reduced mobility and the other was super sperm!

Hope everyone is well, as usual when I start to post I know what I'm going to say to who, but then I get complete brain freeze and can't remember anything at all :o

    TTD-thinking of you.

TL-I agree that you should try for a telephone consultation instead of being all wound up for the next few days, there is nothing worse than not knowing.
I was also surprised by how little mrh's sample was-it seems to make an awful lot of mess for not very much stuff

AFM-Mrh is going in for his PESA next week, he is trying to be brave, but he isn't really, I'm trying to be brave for him, but secretly terrified that it is still rubbish and there really are no swimmers in there at all, I must find my PMA again, I know it's here somewhere :)

Glad to hear it :) I sometimes go through phases of being a total stresshead and needing something, anything, right at that very second. Then other times, I think I could happily wait until next year to see the specialist (ha...not!).

I'm feeling very flat today. I've been having loads of cloudy ewcm for days now but my OPK's are pretty much clear. I've just done one now and there is a very faint second line but i just feel very deflated. Ovulating late is !!!!. Long cycles must be even worse - I really really feel for you ladies who only get the chance 2 or 3 times a year. I suppose I should shut up and count my blessings.

Lily Allen has been in the media recently. She had her stillbirth at pretty much the same time as my daughter passed away. Then, her daughter was born a similar time to my DS. And now she has a huge massive pregnant belly and I don't :( Boohoohoo. :(

Zippy - Any news from you yet? Are you going to test, or just wait to see if AF arrives?

Tea - Good luck for your FS appointment later. Let us know how you get on xx
