Lilymay, I'm not going to pretend to be some kind of expert at reading charts. I gave up temping cos my own were too annoying and I found it too stressful. I would think that it would be more reliable if the earlier temps were done daily (around cd 10ish) consistently? Aside from that I'd be tempted to believe blood tests more than temp charts tbhWhy am I so nervous about the FS appt on wed? We've had lots of appts before, but I'm bricking it about this one. I know this sounds mad but I feel like they're going to be cross with me because clomid made me ov really late, it's like I've failed a test so now they won't help me anymore
.
Having just read that back am starting to think I need a psychiatrist rather than a fertility specialist.
There's noone in the world that will examine how worthy they are, or whether they'd pass a test, to have kids more than an infertile.AFM i'm really really really really pleased to say i've ovulated for the first time since August!Unfortunately, i'm in the BigZippy 'hating myself for being so hopeful' camp....although i'm a little bit down at that thought too and it takes my hope away because i remember thinking that this time last year. it makes me think i'm no closer to a baby but actually, we've made good steps through getting referred to the gynae x x
So... you know you're hormonal when... gravy makes you cryMy bo.obs hurt (I know, I know, progesterone etc etc) and DH thought the nips felt wet(?) /greasy maybe? last night.
*gives a stern look to Hope til she quivers in a corner*
If/when AF turns up on the weekend, clomid has much to answer for!"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
BZ - just had to touch my nipples to see if they felt wet/ greasy :rotfl:!
Feel PMTish & tender boobs so usual pre-AF symptoms. I expect AF to be here by Friday (although obviously will be delighted if she's not).
Already started thinking of next cycle - OH could well be overseas at ov. I need to put that to the back of my mind & worry when it happens.
We just all need a magic wand for Christmas.0 -
You both just made me belly laugh! Read aloud to hubby and he thinks you're all crazy.
I have hope, and am tender too, but no wetness or grease! Fingers crossed for an AF-free weekend for all.0 -
BZ - I think it's hear hear! But cheers regardless.
No greasy nipples to report here.
But on a slightly more serious note, no news back yet from the biopsy. I'm pretty resigned to going in on Friday, but I really should stop googling.
The doctor I am seeing is actually also a FS. I'm going to try and ask him on Friday for a second opinion on going for IVF. I'm not sure I'm really ready for it, and the Acupuncture lady is telling me to give her 6 months first, and she is confident it will work. But.. she would say that wouldn't she. I can't decide what to do.
I have to wait til January anyway, and probably into Feb, but with no BD it's just wasted time. Plus I can't get any treatment for most of December as we'll be away.
I just can't decide... Maybe a second medical opinion may be helpful. The Soy or acupuncture or something seems to be making a massive difference (TMI - but I am an EWCM machine at the moment) and I think I should give that a chance. Plus DH doing a few things to improve his count. But then... we could achieve nothing in 6 months and it's just wasted time. Plus IVF is clearly very expensive, and it would be good if other things worked.
Mind you, the acupuncture isn't exactly free either..0 -
No answers t2d, when I found out my tubes were blocked I went through the should we pay for IVF? It was going to cost a similar amount for IVF or for the lap op.
In the event, the private FS agreed to put me on the NHS waiting list but then I managed to get my health insurance (Benenden) to pay for the lap. This took time to sort out & I got contacted by the NHS at the same time I booked in privately. I stuck with the private option as it gave me a bit of flexibility on dates.
I'm no help or advice - just wanted to share our dilemma. We could afford IVF & if it came with a better chance of success would probably give it a go. However it's not going to be for us.0 -

I know that progesterone in this half of the cycle does this to bo.obs but... you can't help but think these things can you :cool:Fingers crossed for an AF-free weekend for all.)

Could you perhaps go on an NHS waiting list (I recall you saying something about being borderline on the BMI requirement?) while you're trying to decide? Would you still be entitled to NHS help if you'd had private treatment previously, in your area?"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
I think one of the worst things about clomid (from a list of many things!) was that it increased prog. levels after ov. so led me to do a LOT of ss'ing the first month I used it.0

Oooo, this makes me hopeful.
Progesterone keeps AF away doesn't it? So if My *suspected* LFD is the problem, clomid would help with that?14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
lilymay - AFAIK (and the usual disclaimer here, I'm not a dr, this is just my experience, please check this info with your dr), clomid can help with prog. levels, and with LPD. As it can help produce "stronger" eggs, you're left with a "stronger" corpeus luteum which provides the prog. levels during the LP.
Obviously this doesn't work for everyone, in the same way as clomid won't induce ovulation in everyone. But it is used as a treatment for LPD by some drs - sometimes in conjunction with prog. itself.
When's your next appt? I'm sure you've said but I have a complete sieve brain at the moment. I hope it all goes as you'd like x.0
