BZ - hope you managed to set up your cbfm ok.

T2D - Changes in lifestyle can make a huge effect, it will take about 3 months for the change to show in test results. I have seen quite a few posters on various forums who have hugely improved SA results being making changes. I would suggest that you get a multi-vitamin for men which is high in zinc and may also a Co-Enzyne Q10. Also try and introduce brazil nuts into his diet. In the months leading up to our ivf I got my dh to take the vitamins and brazil nuts and also cut right down on caffine and alcohol.

Caffeine and alcohol (and smoking) are not a problem. Probably more for me! Well, apart from the smoking, neither of us smoke.

3 months is ok for changes. We won't be able to start anything until January due to holidays, so if he gets started now then hopefully impacts will start to be seen. I am going to mentally re-set now my "everyone gets pregnant in 2 years" clock, as it seems the last 2 years didn't really count. Onwards we go.

Right - booked! SA on Monday, results on Tuesday. None of this 2 weeks for a GP appointment, then 1 week for test, then 2.5 weeks for results... at last - something in this process where money helps!

Yes! It literally occurred to me who I missed before checking this page and seeing this post from you! I'm sure baby will be fine, but we'll look forward to your confirmation after the scan never the less ;)

T2D sorry the results were rubbish but hopefully them leaving it too long will be a major factor in how rubbish they were

TL when were you expecting the results?

Yes, I think I got the CBFM set up right, but I guess I'll find out tomorrow morning ;)

T2D, I recommend the advice in Getting Pregnant Faster for male fertility. It is dietary and vitamin supplement based. The diet isn't weird stuff that your OH wouldn't normally eat but it is probably quite different to how he eats now. So from memory, red meat only very infrequently, chicken 2-3 times a week, one fish meal, either increased or reduced dairy (can't remember which :o), etc. Its all worked out to reduce exposure to things which impact fertility and add in nutrients which enhance it. DH and I both did the diet and vitamins religiously after bein told his count was so low we only had a 5% chance of success with ICSI and conceived naturally 3 cycles later with DS2.

    The one by Marilyn Glenville?

Red meat infrequently? Maybe a problem (does pork count?)
    Chicken 2-3 times a week - that's fine.
Fish. does Fish and Chips count? Oven cooked style
Dairy - well, he has virtually none now, so hopefully it's less!

Thanks though. I'll get reading, I just hope DH is happy to get on board and do what's needed.

Nice to hear a good story - we will hopefully join you soon.

And 2ba2c - I referred to you in an earlier question about Soy!! But you didn't respond.. so I *sulk* back at you. ;)
