Evening Team TTC'ers,
Glad you are pleased with the plan BZ, nice to feel like things are progressing. And good look MrsH with the FS.
TeamLowe, you produce EWCM for 10-14 days! I only get it for maybe 1 day. Although it sounds like my ov isn't stong enough, so maybe that is a symptom.
Today I feel slightly like I am falling into quackery. I had a first session of Acupuncture, and have bags and bags of tea things which have to be boiled for 30 minutes, every 2 days! And it smells... I have a feeling DH may not put up with that for long. Plus also a ball of tiny little black seeds that I have to take twice a day. I am dubious...
The acupuncture was good though. Painless, and then I just got left there for a while, so sort of relaxing - if I could only have shut up my brain a bit more! And she also did some cupping, which was also a bit strange, but didn't leave marks which I was worried about.
Has anyone else tried it? I am going twice a week (!!) for the next 6 weeks. Worth a try I suppose. She also told me to take Vitamin E and D daily. I will rattle soon.
I tried accupunture. Once every 7-10 days over about 4 months. Clearly didn't have the desired effect - I'm still here! I wouldn't put anyone off trying it, it was 30 mins of relaxing if nothing else.
Think I'm about 11 DPO. AF expected Sunday/ Monday ish (although last cycle was longer than the usual 27-29 days). No plans to POAS (although have both ICs & digis in!)
Glad you have a plan BZ. Much as we don't like not getting our own way, maybe the FS is right & Clomid should be much easier than IVF in terms of emotion (well from my perspective it would be).0 -

The cupping was only a minute or so - I think its the same principles as acupuncture, so if you are buying into it, then may as well go all the way! I see how the tea goes this week, and maybe tell her I'd rather not do that element.
If it works I will be singing it's praises I am sure!0 -
Oh, and I am getting closer to having the full suite of tests ready to chat to the FS again. I am officially HIV, HepB, HepC negative, and Rubella antibody positive. I had a smear today, and some other random STI tests. (forgot how much fun those things are - not!)
So, making progress on the non-quackery front too.0 -

I've no experience with those kinds of treatments. My physio did a bit of acupuncture a while ago but I wasn't keen. I'm a bit sensitive to smells, so not sure I could cope with the weird tea stuff!Good luck with it though...!
BZ -I can understand why fs would like you to try ttc now that tube is at least some way unblocked first before ivf. Ivf puts your body through so much physically and emotionally that fs thinks clomid and ttc is worth a try.
FS must have some confidence that there is a chance you could now be successful as when I saw fs she told me that she would recommend ivf whatever outcome of hsg and so for fs to suggest trying for 6 months she must believe its possible.
Btw, I never meant to imply I'd rather go straight ahead and do IVF, or that I'm not glad that she's suggesting something else might be possibleThis whole journey is just somewhat of a mindf*ck sometimes, isn't it?
Keeping everything crossed for you and huge congrats on the weight loss, amazing achievement! At least the pressure's off and I have 7months to lose the last stone (that they require) and can enjoy the culinary delights of Christmas etc. And I don't feel the pressure of feeling like I'm the only one holding my TTC journey up now (as it would've been if it was waiting to lose the rest til I could go be referred for ACU).
Have you and OH talked further about the letter/potentially doing another round?"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Quiet on here!
CD1 for me. Round 1 of Clomid starts tomorrow. PMA is that we have a weekend away booked for ov.
Christening today - loads of cute kids (&some not so cute).0 -
You know I said about Sod's Law...? I started spotting on friday and tried to pre-empt the "ooh you started on the weekend so you couldn't start clomid cos you didn't book your scan" thing. No nurses there, at 5 to 4. *Sigh* So, I've been crossing my fingers and holding my breath that spotting would remain spotting til at least today then I could get the scan booked and start clomid, on time, on cd2! I think I'm now happy to call this cd1, so fingers crossed I'll be able to book in tomorrow and start the clomid - which will make me feel much better, knowing The Plan is actually underway rather than just a theory
So, ttc40 - snap!
It's good though, because the last 3/4 cycles have been under 30 days, whereas before they could reach 90+. A vast improvement, and hope the clomid helps rather than hinders that!Wonder what my first post-lap & some endo removal AF will be like...
Hope you're all ok. You are very quiet!"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Hope you get sorted today BZ & we are partners.
I'm not having any scans. FS said that as tests show I ov, there's no need.
I think this also means that Clomid really isn't something which will solve a specific 'problem' for me. I'm just old & overweight!
Let's hope that I don't have any adverse reaction to Clomid. Have taken the first one this morning. Got usual AF pains so took a couple of ibruprofen as well.
Stay warm everyone.0 -
Nothing to report! Cd 28 here & temps still high so it looks like one of the longer cycles again. Think I ovulated on cd16 so still 1/2 days to go.
BZ - The Plan is 'go'! That's exciting!
Hope everyone is ok.When people show you who they are, believe them the first time0 -
Morning ladies,
I'm sorry that I only seem to pop in when I need tea and sympathy, but I do read all about you every day!
We had our first IUI two weeks ago (fail!) and I've just spoken to the nurse who said my AMH levels have come back low for my age (33 years old and AMH 3.7). She said it might be an indication that my body is telling me to crack on with it and that we might skip the rest of the IUI and go straight to IVF.
I'm reeling and gutted.0 -
Derby big dodgy hugs for you but at least you know now and knowing seems to be half the battle
Yay for BigZ and TTC40, start of the next step, how exciting! i can't wait for March and to get my clomid lol
Well I've been waiting patiently to get a letter with DH's SA results, only for him to ring to chase today and them say they won't send it to him, they've sent it to my doctor. grrr
So i've just called his secretary who is lovely and will send them on to my GP when she has them so we can make an appointment..
For a test we're only having for reassurance it's causing a lot of bother! lolLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6
