Oh no, I'm sorry! I will go back through your posts and find it and answer immediately! x
    Lol - don't worry!

I was just asking about Soy, as I seem to remember it worked for you. How much did you take, and for how many months? I have a funny feeling it was the first month right?

    eta - cross posted. Thanks!

Hey, Ive lurked here for a little while, I secretly thought if I dont post then I havent actually been trying for over 12 months. We have actually been trying for 16 months. I had cd3 and cd21 bloods and DH had SA at the 12 month point and both were 'normal' The GP has sadi that we should just keep trying for another 12 months (I am 35, and did argue the age thing but he wouldnt listen)

I just wanted to jump in to say that I used Soy for 3 months and it didnt result in a BFP but it did shorten my cycle (which was a lovely 28-29 days usually) to around 22 or 23 days (perhaps I shouldnt have messed) I did get a stronger ov pain (around cd13 - which would be normal for me) but my LP was definately shortened. I am not trying it again.

I also wanted to say hi to all those I 'recognise' from the other thread (and wave at the graduates that have popped in)

This month I am researching/trying maca root ..... anyone tried it?

rumfeeble - Is there another GP at your surgery that you could try seeing?

We've just had our first fertility appt after the GP's referral. We were referred after trying for just over a year. Might be a bit of a postcode lottery, but maybe you just saw one of the less helpful GPs?

p.s. I know what you mean re posting making it a bit more real - see my post earlier today!

    And me!!
See, I knew I shouldn't've mentioned names! I always forget some!! Sorry :o Glad you're doing well though :)

Welcome Pinkteapot. I can relate. :o There was also a very cute baby in the waiting room when I went last time too.

 Welcome rum :) I think I did that waiting thing too, but once you get to appointments etc, it's harder to ignore.

No idea about maca root other than a previous TTCer (can't remember who talked about/tried it previously.

Hi all, I don't have anything to report but just wanted to say how inspiring it is to here from the graduates - nice to hear some good news stories after such long journeys, and I hope the rest of your pregnancies are smooth. And also good to see lots of 'lurkers' coming out - since my first post I feel like such a weight has lifted from my shoulders purely by expressing my thoughts. Good, cheap therapy!!
And thanks for the various tips on improving SA, really handy to know.

Rumfeeble - I agree with trying another GP? We were referred after a year and I'm 29. You wanna know that you've tried every possibility. The worse thing that can happen is you get another no.

Pinkteapot - Reading your first post was like reading my own diary. With regards it feeling 'real' now, if it helps, I found that when I was given the Clomid (the drug to started ovulation), the baby making became less of a focus because at least we were trying something. As Teamlowe said, at least it's a plan. It was the waiting that got me.

I hope everyone is feeling ok today. V x

So, struggling a bit today. I'm just scared we will be told there is no chance of even ICSI with his SA results. I'm sure things will look better tomorrow, just some days are harder than others.

Don't worry, my DH had 1 million with poor mobility, we had ICSI. He had his sperm aspirated from the testes as it doesn't come out the normal way and then it was frozen to use. As long as there is some there they can do something. Try to remain positive.

Hi and thanks for the welcome
Pink tea pot and veseviour I have another gp at the surgery but I can't remember which one is which name, perhaps I could just ask the receptionist who I saw last time and write it down this time. The nurse I saw for my blood tests told me IVF isn't even looked at until you have been trying 3 years round here, a local friend of mine had IVF twins 3 years ago she waited 5 years from beginning ttc until she got actual treatment and she had such irratic af's that they 'knew' something wasn't right before they started.

Maybe I should give it another 2 more months then we have been trying 18 months and stamp my feet or cry at the doctor till he says yes lol

The maca root has just been ordered online, I will report back if it makes any difference.

Can I just ask, what is maca supposed to do? It is similar to Soy Iso?

Just popping on for a rant  boss today asked if I was going to have another go at ivf. I explained that that we had used all our savings etc last time and could not just find £5,500 for icsi but would have to decide early next year. She said that if we couldn't find money, didn't have treatment and didn't have a child "it was not the end of the world". Well may be not for her who has a son:mad:
