sorry to moan again, but I really wish I'd gone to the Fertility Show in London today. Hubby decided upon being forced to read the leaflet that it wouldn't teach him/us anything not known already... I should've just gone when I got paid today, but then we'd be a bit more skint for the week.. *sigh*

omg it's not today, it's the 6-7 Nov! phew. Maybe I'm just thinking about it too much as I'm still bleeding which isn't normal for me - must phone doc...

  • Welcome Mummyleads, sorry you have had such trials. Post as often as you want. There isnt much that at least one of us hasnt gone through so we will try and help as much as we can. Are you still waiting to have your tubes untied, but got pregnant anyway, or did you have it done (sorry, I am a bear of very little brain!)

Lauzjp, glad you didnt miss the show - if its something you feel you need to go to, why not go with a supportive friend, or just go anyway? You will only feel bad if you miss it when you really want to go

Shelly, thanks for the info re CBFM, I have just bought one too, so you may be inundated with questions

Enjoy your day off ginvzt - Men!

  • Hi all

has anyone tried natural cycle IVF ? I've done normal IVF/ICSI but am researching this and just wondered if anyone had tried it?

thanks xx (goes back to lurking..)
  • Freckles 38, only just seen your post - sorry! I do natural cycle IVF, its not available at many places I believe. I have done both, and prefer this as I do not 'do' hormones very well. Its more hit and miss, and you need to be prepared to abandon the cycle if things are not right which is more likely because you are using your own cycle not an artificially induced one. You also rarely produce more than one embryo, cos in real life you only get one egg a month, so obviously only one shot! My last attempt (a year ago now cos of the cancer) produced an A+ quality embryo so it works really well. My consultant prefers natural cycle because she believes that not all the multiple eggs produces are capable of becoming a baby, but you dont know which ones they are! If you only produce one it is more likely to be a good one (IYSWIM)

Please feel free to ask me any questions that you want, either on the thread or by pm

  • Forgot to say - it is also massively cheaper as well - and minimal charges if you abandon the cycle

Oh, and stop lurking and join in the fun - everyone welcome!

Hi Guys, i hope you are all well, and you had a fab weekend? We went to the theatre on Friday, my birthday treat :) Then on sunday we went on a Steam train for my father in laws birthday, so it was lovely.

Well a week of bding and then off to the docs on Wed, so lets see what the rest of the week holds. Welcome to the newbies and jump on in, we are all lovely, if a little crazy ;)

  • Thanks Lilo - I am very interested in natural cycle IVF - as I have felt more and more ill each time I do IVF - which I also think might be an age-related thing :o.

How do they time for egg collection? And how much monitoring do they do prior to egg collection (ie usually every two days for scanning).

    thanks xx

AF arrived about 5 minutes ago - I've never been so relieved! Not that I ever want her to visit at the mo, but she's been promising to arrive for about 10 days and I've been in agony! So, I'm looking forwards to the pain and tenderness all finishing.
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o
