  • Was busy 'working on the project' - sorry didnt make it on here!!!!

I didnt see the programme (OH is just showing me it on iplayer at the moment) - the fertility consultant on there, Geeta Nargund is my consultant, shes lovely and I cant believe she was anything but supportive on it.(she was!!)

Sorry about the bad news lauzjp, please feel free to post to get support during this difficult time. You are new to the thread, had you been trying for a long time? Look after yourself and OH at this difficult time.

Glad everyone had a good weekend.

I am off to see Geeta tomorrow, so hopefully I will know where we are going fertility wise.

emmzy, I am always weary of these diets... I have tried Tesco diets and I have to say it worked for me last year - I have lost 10kg in 2-3 months I have been actually following it. The bonus is that you don't have to buy any special products, and they give you a meal plan (which you can modify from selected choices, which are quite varied and generous). It is much less than £60 a week you have to pay!!!! (It is £29.90 for 10 weeks and that gives you the meal plans for each week). I am sure being savy MSE'er you can get all you weekly food shopping done for less than £60!

Lilo - best of luck today! I hope all goes well!!!

I went to yoga last night. It was quite good to stretch all those joints all muscles. Oh well, just 4 evenings left to sort out the house for the weekend, to decide on the menu and make the cake!

Oh, and I have a smear test tomorrow...

  • Ginvzt, glad you enjoyed the yoga! Good luck with your weekend - as long as you have cake, the rest doesnt matter:cool: OMG !!!!!!!!!!! And thanks for the good wishes.

Well, it went well. Once she had all the info, dates etc and details of my treatment - she then gave us the scare stories of all the risks we face in addition to the normal risks of IVF:eek::eek::eek: OMG. But she only did it to make sure that we understood where we are at. Once we had convinced her that we still want to go ahead, it was down to business and she will do everything in her power to help us (I said she was lovely:j:j)

So, I need a 21 day blood test to see if I have ovd, day 1-3 blood tests to check all my levels, the ones I have had done were great, apparently:D
and then a scan on day 18 to check all is well. She has then cleared her operating theatre for the afternoon so that she can experiment to make sure that the treatment is possible:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: She is going to try different speculums and catheter sizes to make sure that I am physically able to have the embryo re-implanted with what I have left (she did mention that she has done embryo transfer through the abdomen but I will try not to think about that!!) So I cant say that I am looking forward to being a guinea pig, but it is for the best in terms of our future IVF being as successful as possible. I didnt dare ask how much it is all going to cost:eek::eek: but if I want to go ahead needs must! So must make sure that I have a full perm and set to make sure that I am looking my best for my close ups seen as she will be very 'close' for maybe an hour!!!!!!

She did say - oh its okay, I know you are brave with these treatments! So I am expecting the whole experience to be rather uncomfortable.:o:o

Anyway sorry for the long post, thought I would bring you all up to speed. Needless to say, that I am getting quite excited that things are moving forward, and if everything is okay, I could be looking at Dec or Jan for my attempt:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

  • I can't shake this negative feeling off. I really do feel down - I'm also worried that I am turning into one of those women who only wants to jump into bed for baby making....when we do I know that I'm mentally logging 'another chance in the bag'...I do love (and fancy) my husband, but I can't stop thinking about wanting a baby.

I think I'll feel better once I've been to the fertility clinic - but that isn't till December and I'm not really sure what to expect.

I am only 29 I keep reminding myself, but I do feel twitchy that I might still be here in 5 years, 8 years, 10 years wanting a baby but nothing....

I know this is may sound totally daft, but it is just hard when you want something so badly, but you just can't control it.

My husband will be a great dad and I guess I also feel guilty that it looks like it is down to me that things aren't going smoothly. I know he wants a baby too and I worry that I wont be able to give it to him....
  • Skintmonkey, I am so sorry you are still feeling low. You are still only young, but I also know that that doesnt make things any easier. Maybe you need to step back a little, and look after yourself first. Stress doesnt help, unfortunately and I am sure that you are doing everything that you can. To some this thing is really easy, but to those of us on here, it seems to be the hardest thing in the world. But that doesnt mean that it wont happen. The odds are very good that you will, in time, be a mum - so hang on to that when things get tough.

You have an appointment in December, so you have done as much as you can. So relax, enjoy the 'fun' and wait and see what the consultant says, and take it from there.

we're all in it with you SM, so let off steam whenever you want.

    Hugs, lilo

oh and thanks for the support guys!

    Lilo! Great news!!!!

I had my smear test this morning I had an appointment at 9:10 and the nurse was already running late half an hour!!!! So I was getting a bit stressed, as I was only allowed to keep my car parked for 1 hour in that place! Oh, and the surgery still haven't changed our address on their records - it is about 7 weeks since we submitted address change forms!!!! So, if the nurse didn't check my address, I would have never got the results (doesn't mean that they royal mail will deliver them anyway or NHS will post them!)

Oh well, better get working today. Only today and tomorrow and then I am having a long weekend!

    *waves*

Nothing happening here. APpt on Tues at St Mary's to look at a few test results.

I'm not losing weight properly which is BAD.

I'm emotionally yoyoing like a crazy woman - crying at adverts on teh Tube, that kind of thing. You know the one around at the moment for Save the Children where it says 'I was all ready for school, I had a school bag, I was Asifa'? Floods. Really embarrassing. I have to try not to read them because it makes me blub but something keeps pulling my eyes back to them... honestly. What a state.

Hope you're all doing better than me. Hugs to those that need them.
