    Hi everyone

I'm back! I posted a few months ago and then never came back - mostly because thinking about trying makes me miserable realising it's not happening and not focussing on it I can pretend I don't really care! But I'm 32 now and need to start putting some effort in if I want to get a result. I've been trying to lose weight and eat heathily, have just ordered a fertility monitor, and I'm on medication to control my hormone levels so I'm hoping next month that my periods will return - they've been gone for 6 months now:eek:

I'm not able to get any fertility treatment on the NHS until my BMI is lower but my HSG was fine, blood tests are normal and OH's swimmers are alive and well. Specialist was blunt about my weight being the issue - BMI is 42. I am going to work super hard on getting it down and not comfort eating although it's hard when everyone announces they're pg:rolleyes:

Are there any supplements OH should be taking to help improve his sperm - esp to make them less "congealed" and what should I be taking? You guys seem to know sooo much

    Hi skint.

My hubby takes a multi vit and a zinc tablet everyday. We don't know if they help or not as we haven't had a BFP since he's started taking them but I have problems with my weight on top of the cervical surgery so the odds are kind of against us anyway. He says they do him no harm so he is happy to keep taking them.

I am nearly 3 weeks into my cutting down/dieting and haven't really seen much of a difference :o (though I admit to being a little naughty this week while hubby was in hong kong....what can I say, I missed him :o )

Myself I just take folic acid everyday. I tried a pre-conception multivit tablet but gave me horrendous headaches so just stick to the FA.

    HTH

    Hi skintchick,

My DH, who is not known for his tendency to enthuse over anything much (don't you just love them!) has been taking the Zita West Vitamen supplements as well as Pycnogenol for about three months now to improve his situation and he has said he actually feels better since taking them.

I have a busy weekend ahead - we are marching for the Save the Hastings Pier campaign tomorrow and then have the Hastings procession and Fireworks in the evening. Have been on a course all week. I think I may collapse on Sunday exhausted!

Really sorry to hear your bad news lauzjp. Take a little time to feel down, then do your best to pull yourself back up again. Big hugs.

House cleaning.. Garden cleaning... Nothing else happening. Need to catch up with work, as I am getting rather down with it and haven't really done anything since Wednesday - if my manager is in tomorrow, someone is going to be embarrassed...
It is CD10, so we need to start bd this month, but I really don't feel like it...

Oh, did anyone watch 'Big Question' this morning? One of the questions was 'Is IVF damaging society?' I couldn't believe some of the opinions expressed. Obviously, htye have never experienced the psychological hardship that comes with not being able to conceive... I don't mind adoption, but I still want to try and have my own child, to experience the feeling of the new life growing inside you. If it is not going to happen naturally, I would like to have a go at IVF. If all fails, I would love to give a home to an unfortunate child who doesn't have family.

I didn't catch it ginvzt - I'm glad I didn't. Don't think I would have had an intact tv if someone on there was trying to tell me off for wanting my own child!

I have to say, I also end up screaming at the TV when these sort of programmes are on and so avoid them now like the plague!!!

Usual quiet waiting game for me at the moment....

Had friends over at the weekend. They have an adorable little boy who loves coming down here. We went to the Save the Pier march on Saturday which was great and then back down the seafront for the evening Bonfire Parade (Hastings has their bonfire night to co-incide with the 1066 battle anniversary every year).

We were all shattered by Saturday evening, so were lazy yesterday.

Then good you didn't see that!!!! OH kept talking over and I was trying to shut him up, as I wanted to hear!

Oh well, it was a gorgeous day here - apart from the morning. No, just to get home, get a bit of cleaning done, and then hopefully get myself out to yoga, since my piano lesson was cancelled... OH, and a bit more piano practice tonight!

I hope others are busy 'working on the project' and we will see some positive results any time soon!

Hiya all just wanted to ask a quick question, Im thinking about doing the lighterlife diet its quite expensive at £60 a week for 16 weeks that works out at just under £1000 :o but if it makes me preggy its worth it theres alot of things on the net about being overweight and not being able to concieve but then i know a girl whos 26st with a wee boy and my sister was 18st when she had her wee boy so i was wondering if its really worth it? Im happy with the way I am except that im not pregnant so I dont care about it for vanity sake Am I getting desperate and clutching at straws or do you think theres a big enough effect that it might be worth all that money?

    Thanks clever people :D
