  • Well I opened a can of worms, didnt I. Thanks for the smiles - depression r us got a giggle, and I think DH is ringing the men in white coats following my reaction to Depression due to Lack of Conceiving Club!!!!!!! I hope I dont need to start another new thread, after getting told off about changing to this one before the old one was full!!! - but a good name when the time comes.

Welcome to Caroline and Skint Monkey - just ignore us, we are normally quite a positive bunch, we are having a bad patch. I think we need a BFP to cheer us up, and I will volunteer for this difficult job if I could!!!!!!

I think our men must feel under a lot of pressure at ov time, my DH has been known to have problems, so I have to employ all my feminine wiles. But if he doesnt want to perform, the world has ended and you can hear our row in Canterbury!!!

Leopardlady, I still have my fingers crossed for you. The stomach cramps sound painful. I hope you can find some comfort.

Ginvzt, thanks for your kind words. I am trying to do some decorating. I am terrified of stopping and thinking cos I think I will sink like a stone if I do. I am trying to keep busy and get some of the things which I have been putting off done, anything which does not require my brain and I can just get on with. I will need to slow down and try and work out what I am doing, but I am not ready to do this yet. I am just trying not to do too much, as I cant stay on my legs for very long as my legs will then hurt - they are killing me at the moment, so I think I did too much.

My doctor has been really good to us at the moment. My last appointment lasted 45 minutes. I wasnt rushed or anything, he just let me and my DH talk, and we looked at poss solutions. The poor people in the waiting room must have wondered how much longer we would be!!! (an appointment is only 10 minutes - oooops!!!)

Anyway glad to see more activity on here, it is great to hear how people are getting on.

  • Well, my levels are increasing - accordingly to CBFM. Am on a course all week which is a 100+ mile round trip every day, so am feeling quite wiped out. Hope I have energy as required!

    Welcome to newcomers.

SkintMonkey, I am so old that my schoolfriends are on their second marriages and second families - I haven't had my first yet! How depressing is that?!? ;-)
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Welcome to the new members of the club. Lets hope it will bring some good luck here and good mood!!!! We need a big 'pick me up' all, don't we?

Leopardlady, I know we don't want to raise any hopes, but maybe this is your month? We desperately need a BFP!!!! (Well, my birthday is next week as well, and I can tll you I don't really care.... I have just tried to invite a couple of friends to come over, and as another friend's birthday is day after mine, we might end up all going to hers... Although it is my 30, and her's 29. I think I feel like she is trying to 'steal' my birthday. She offered to organise something together, but I want it to be MINE this year, not a shared one!!! - sorry, sore spot at the moment)

Well, I got a punctured tyre on the way home last night and didn't even notice, until someone on the road beeped to me that something is wrong with my car!!!! It was flat when I stopped at B&Q car park, and was just thinking what to do - call RAC, or attempt it myself, when a nice gentleman from 'white van' offered to change it for me! I was gob-smacked that there are still people offering help on the road and was very grateful!

So, my car is in the garage this morning and I am working from home. Somehow I have a feeling that the garage is going to 'fleece' me... I haven't used them before, but it is 5 min walking from home, so I thought I'll give them a try...

P.S. There is a pot of tea on my desk here if someone wants some . It is green jasmine tea this morning... (I might find some biscuits hidden in the biscuit barrel under the desk from my OH if someone needs the sugar...)

    Hi Ladies,

well i am sorry to say it is not to be my month, AF arrived early today! so hey ho and on we go! I am going to make an appointment to see my GP, i saw her a couple of weeks ago when i had bronchitis, and she commented then that i should make an appointment!

I am feeling quite down, but the up side is, if i had got that elusive bfo this month i would have been due on the day of my friends wedding and i am one of her bridesmaids! so at least i can still be there for her.

Thanks for all the positive vibes, i am sorry i couldn't lift the group, but i am sure one of us will get there this month, i can feel it!

The sun is shining here so i am going to try and keep smiling :)

    Hi ladies,

I wonder if anyone could help me with a question. A friend of mine is currently undergoing her 2nd attempt at IVF. She's just emailed me to say that she's unfortunately unable to attend my wedding as she will be testing the day before and if it's negative she won't be in a fit state to see people. I feel so sorry for her and know that ttc is difficult and emotional enough without going through IVF and all it involves. I just wondered though, and it felt too tactless to ask, what the test is? Is it likely to be a pg test? Or are there other tests it could be?

I lurk on here a fair bit and am in awe of the strength you have. Good luck to everyone xxx

Yes it will most likely be the pg test. In my clinic they test 14 days after egg collection. Some clinics do blood test, and some seemingly do normal tests. The blood work gives more information hormone levels etc, so can give you some warning about likelihood of pg progressing etc if you are pg.

I went back to work the day after my test, having been told to expect to miscarry. I was neither use nor ornament!Blood test the following day improved my chances to 5%. Anyway, DS is now heading 3, so he was pretty determined.
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.

  • Congrats on your impending wedding courgette, nice to see you over here - I too would imagine that it is a pregnancy test.

Ahh Leopardlady, I had high hopes for you this month. Hope you are coping okay and the discomfort is not too high ((((hugs))))

Hi to everyone else, hope you all had good days. I had DS Harvest festival today, really sweet, he sang his heart out. And have just booked my ocado delivery for Christmas, managed to get 23rd, so pleased with that. It is soooo expensive, but it does save me loads of hassle, so worth every penny.

DH touched me this morning and I burst straight into tears. The poor man is being really sweet and absolutely lovely about it, but I am so cross about it. I really don't understand what's going on and I feel like a fool. I also feel like a fraud for not trying. If I'm not doing the BD I really don't feel I can be earnng my slot on IVF next year. Guilt complex!
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o

Thanks Lilo, i was very hopeful this month, oh well, i had a really good cry last night, rushed up stairs so OH didn't see, but he told me this morning he suspected.

I said i am making a doc appointment and he said he would be more than happy to have any tests as well! This really shocked me, i am sooooo lucky to have such a wonderful man.

I hope you find a way to cope joblets, please don't guilt yourelf over the IVF, you deserve the place, and this period of emotions is to be expected when you are going through so much. Please try and not beat yourself up. You are a very strong lady!

I am glad that i am now very busy with work, because it is stopping me want to cry!
