    Morning everyone, havent got time for individual replies but thanks for kind words. Funeral was very sad but beautiful, complete with wild wet windy weather - very dramatic! Had lots of cuddles with my gorgeous new niece tho, she is lovely.

    Glad u got your letter Primmer but shocking it could take them that long to fit you in! Our hospital always has a 6 week wait for DH's SA which I find really frustrating. Fingers crossed they fit you in soon! xx

    Hugs Onestep, we all know how that feels :( xx

    Afternoon all- Hope you are all doing as ok as to be expected. (Sorry to hear of your loss Kate)

    Our useless gp may not actually be so bad after all. I was convinced after him 'not understanding' OH's SA and needing a week to do some research that I could be chasing him next week as he wouldn't have done anything but he actually proved me wrong and called last night to say that he still doesn't understand it but that he would be referring us to a fertility clinic (didn't even need to ask). :T

    Slightly frustrated that because the in-laws were round I couldn't here the convo (OH took it in the next room) and I couldn't take over the phone to ask where, when etc. OH did well though and asked what we need to do now and doc said he will fill out everything and then we will hear in the post.

    3 weeks to the day from 1st gp appointment through SA and being referred to clinic does give me some hope in the system. Let's just hope the rest of it goes as quickly!

    Hope everything goes how you need it for the rest of you x

    I got my letter from the hospital yesterday and it is for HSG test. Annoyingly they only do the test on Tuesday mornings and so only offer 6 appointments a week and therefore state that you may have to wait about 3 months to get fitted in :eek: still no point in worrying about that yet, af is due next week and so have to phone the hospital on cd1 and they will either fit me in for the following Tuesday or I have to call next month when back on cd1

    Onestep - hugs we all understand how it feels when someone we know announces their pregnancy.

    The hospital that I went to only did it on Monday's between 8am and 10am and it could take up to 3 months for the appointment. The first time it was Christmas, and couldn't fit me in in January either, but what they did was a rough calculation of when my period was due in February and then gave me a couple of dates with the option of cancelling on the Thursday before, maybe they will go down that route. Fingers crossed for you. I am now wondering about the AHM testing, but I am so close to losing the last 5lbs to get my bmi, not sure if it is worth asking them about it anyway (we are having to go under NHS).

    Hugs to all that are needing them,

    Sneezyboots - glad your GP got his backside moving and did the referral

    Not sure about whether the NHS routinely test your AMH levels as I was already paying for treatment privately by the time mine was checked.

    AMH checks your egg reserves, not quality. I'm not sure if there is a test to determine egg quality. AFAIK only an embryologist can tell once they've actually got your eggs/embryos under the microscope.

    Hi One step/FN/everyone - AMH apparently sort of *indirectly* and imprecisely checks egg quality as well as quantity - because your ovaries shoot out all the best eggs in your teens and early twenties. So the fewer eggs overall you have by 30+ (measured by your AMH level), the fewer good eggs you have consequently. At least that's what I've read. It's a bit of an inexact science, but then so is conception.

    Egg quality is the 'x' factor (eggs factor) in a lot of cases of unexplained infertility, like mine. It has to be, there's no other reason things aren't working.

    The earlier you start your periods, the younger you'll be when fertility starts to decline (because of all the best eggs going first.)

    I asked the FS about the quality of my eggs. She said you just can't tell, the proof of the pudding is whether they fertilise and implant or not. A lot can go wrong during this. She said based on the shape of my follicles, the eggs look fine - but obviously, they're not, or one would eventually implant. In 77 cycles, this has happened once...

    She wasn't that bothered about AMH level, but the last clinic I went to, MFS, seemed to think it was highly significant and IVF was the only way. They might be right, we'll never know. Unless I get pg naturally or via OI. As a gambling woman though, I increasingly don't fancy those odds.

    I'm CD16 today and OPK is just starting to darken, so looks like egg is nigh. Maybe one decent one left..?

    +++++

    It must be nearly a year since I found out about my AMH level. It was around the time Kate and William got married - wonder when their pg announcement will come..?

    +++++

    Sorry - my posts are increasingly defeatist and depressing! Maybe my infertility is God's way of telling me I don't really fancy any 3am wake up calls any more!

    Have a good Easter Friday - at least I have plenty of Easter eggs, that's something. MIL always goes crazy, like we're 10 years old. Suits me..!

    Chickpea, it's for that very reason that I get scared every time I see will/kate on a magazine cover or the tele :(:o

    :wave: hi everyone, sorry I've been quiet. Too much stress with mil's health and very high risk hospital discharge etc...

    I'm on cd...8? Af on the way out. Hsg booked for the 19th, which I'm fairly dreading. :o The level of bleed feels like confirmation that my last 7 week cycle was anovulatory, which is depressing. I've lost another stone so fast this year, making 3.5st so far, but it doesn't seem to ever be enough :( And I just read on the ttc thread a part about how if you didn't catch now you'd not be having a 2(12 baby, which it's even more depressing right now, cos that's another baby-less Christmas looming. Etc. On top of this, I had a dream this morning that my mate came round to see me (she's due this weekend, got married same time as me etc) and I noticed when she was showing me her bump, that the baby's legs were sticking out, then the belly, so told her to give a little push and delivered her baby for her... :cool:

    I'm feeling like a big hormonal, emotional, physical bag of fail today, I think. :(:o

    Anyway, Happy Easter everyone :) enjoy the weekend :)

    Hope this is your time Runner, good luck with the injections but as we both know what its like we have been there enough. I understand how you feel I am not sure how many more times I can go through it I just want (as we all do) so bad. Still feeling quite emotional and I haven't even started treatment yet!. Need to get a grip.

    My AMH is 15 which is just a little below average for my age (34), my egg quality is not great either I have to have max dose of drugs and get an average amount of eggs but have poor fertilization.

    Happy Easter to everyone and enjoy your choccy.

    We just need one golden egg! :easter_os
  • Happy Easter everyone, haven't posted for a while as nothing really happening this end just been waiting till I can start my next round of IVF.

    I have just picked up my box of medication from my mum and dads, at least the amount of drugs and wot not is not as daunting as last time. Just waiting for AF to show up then its all systems go again. Looking forward to trying again but having to go through the process again is a bit daunting (dosn't help the hospital is hour an half away) but its all worth it.

    Runnerduck - Good luck with your injections x

    Jujugaboo - Im 35 and I think I have the same problem as you, they said my hormone level is low and I didn't get many eggs last time (only 5, which only 1 made it to implantation).
