Thanks for the replies. I am feeling slightly better today I just feel really bad for my OH. He hasn't said much but I know it's hurting him. I have done a little research and there is a fertility clinic in the nearest city to us which take patients from our area and now we have a problem we tick every box. It says on their website they have no waiting lists, just need to referral form off doc. I will give doc a week to research the results as he says and then go back armed with the referral form and info and beg him to refer us!
Hubby even knows I don't mind adopting I just want kids but he did say last night that he does want our kids to be genetically ours so I guess we will need medical assistance. I have him on zinc in the meantime as I read that could help.

Thanks for the help and support, it means a lot :)

Hope you get some better answers soon sneezy. My OH has poor sperm too and we have to have ICSI, they will always pick the best sperm for ISCI so all is not lost it just means a lot of expense and hard work. Make sure OH is taking a multivitamin especially for male conception as this can improve sperm quality.

Sneezy, when I first went to the GP, he was almost as unhelpful as your cr*ppy one. I wrote a letter to the practice manager to complain. I honestly think that helped us get referred a little earlier and it made me feel a lot better that the practice knew he was so insensitive and hurtful. I couldn't just sit there and seethe on it.
There's lots that can be done for you both, don't take that plonker's opinion on board. People like him are damaging and make me really angry.

Sneezy, ask for a referral to urologist and fertility specialist at same time. Be firm but polite with your GP and check progress in case your notes are lost! They'll do a second or more SA and also probably more tests for you (bloods, ultrasound etc). Our urologist found a blockage that wasn't treatable but in conjunction with fertility specialist recommended ICSI. It is the low motility that is the problem. If you don't get referred quickly but 2 years later you'll end up like us (me running out of eggs by the time they got round to all the tests and realised it was OH with the problem) and ending up having to pay privately for ivf with donor eggs and icsi.

Good luck! By the way, multi vitamins and zinc did help increase the quality of OH's SA I'm sure, so carry on twith those. It's cheaper than the wellman or similar total conception for him as well.

Lap & dye number 2. Done! All clear, no sign of blockages, endometriosis, pcsos or anything else that might affect fertility. So everything looks perfect, DH's SA was 'very good'...why on earth haven't we conceived yet? In one of my first GP appointments re fertility problems, our GP jokingly asked if we were doing it right? I'm beginning to have doubts myself!! Think I'll get myself over to YouTube to see if there's any vids on there that might help!! :D

At the moment I'm pinning my hopes on the fact that they might have left some of that magic baby dust in there that makes some women super fertile afterwards!

Sneezy - sorry your GP is being useless. If I were you I'd try to get referred to specialists ASAP. You might have to wait a few months for appointments to come through and while that will seem unendurable at the moment - it won't when you look back on it. Look after DH, it must be a real blow for him but make sure he knows it is a common problem. I don't know whether the clinic you found is NHS or private but if you are eligible for NHS treatment then it would be worth considering it - it might take a bit longer but time is on your side!

C4B - great news, congratulations! How wonderful to have twins. Double trouble but double fun too!

My OH was really keen for us to have twins. With all the expense of IVF he called it buy one, get one free! :D

    :rotfl:

Coping with more than one baby used to really worry me. Now we've had so much trouble conceiving our first, I find it quite appealing to get it all over & done with in one go! I'm not sure I could put myself through this ttc journey again.

Hi Murray - hope you get the magic post-Lap and Dye fertility boost - that's what worked for me with #1!

How old are you btw? Have you had AMH tested? I'm in same boat as you in that everything looks fine with me and DH - but then I found out I have low AMH. Which is probably why nothing ever happens..

Feeling very bored with the whole thing now...and I'm looking forward to the big cheques to the FS stopping four months from now.

Hope you get lucky now Murray now you have had a clear out.

The thought of giving birth use to terrify me but since not been able to conceive for the last 6 years the thought of it now makes me want to cry with joy.

If anybody mentions the TTC to me at the moment I just want to burst out crying, I usually hold back though. I feel so lost by it all.

Good luck everyone else, sorry I haven't been more involved but its been hard.

AF isn't due for another 7 days and I have horrendous pmt and today have been bursting into tears over the littlest thing, I hate feeling this way! My mood isn't helped that I have been waiting a week for a letter from the hospital so I can arrange a date for my tubes to be tested and each day I come home there is no letter and the more annoyed and upset I feel.
