Well, I rang them. They told me to ring the xray department and ask them instead! :) Anyway, she's booked me in for 3 weeks time - if I'm still bleeding I have to cancel/postpone, and directly before it I have to go to the FS clinic and have a pg test.

Not allowed "any intercourse of any kind" between now and then... Just wondering - have all you ladies stuck by that? ;):o I know they say it cos they don't want you to have any chance of being pregnant during the test (seems highly unlikely to me though, at this stage ;)), but I was just wondering if any of you (that've had an HSG) was ever a little naughty? :p:o

I had it after AF and before ov, so wasn't told not to BD:p
Remember, HSG is xray, so it may damage the baby. I was also told to ov as late as possible (very easy for me:p) after HSG.

BZ - I was told by fs that the dye they use would cause miscarriage and so not to bd between af and the test.

My FS was in the news a few years ago because he did an HSG on a woman who turned out to be in very early pregnancy. He got his knuckles rapped for not checking beforehand. He suspected she was as soon as he started the procedure and did not complete it, but she took independent advice who advised her to terminate the pregnancy due to the risks of birth defects to developing fetus and then reported him to GMC, and presumably also sued him. So I don't think you can assume that they will check you aren't pregnant before they start, or even be able to check, and I would guess the worry afterwards if you discovered you had in fact been pregnant would be quite extreme.

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about TTC in the run up to the test, I'm talking about sx with protection.

I don't BD while AF's around anyway, so it's pretty much a moot point, for me personally, I was just wondering - because 3weeks seems a long time, in that respect

At this point, I'll take ov'ing at any point (after the HSG) in the next 2 months! :p;)

I know it's xray, but I think it's the dye that's the problem more than the xray, like the Primmer said?

I didn't, but I was very lucky as my hsg was with 6 days of CD1, was starting to cheer up a wee bit, but got a phone call from hubby at lunchtime, father in law has been taken back to hospital and this time it is serious, both of us blubbing on phone, unfortunetley he was in Elgin at the time, managed to get through the afternoon, did not want to come home early to sit here on my own...

CONGRATS C4B - so happy for you and very jealous in a nice way!

Not alot to report here, going for FET next month and hopefully we will have our blood chromosome test results by then. My job is not being renewed as the work has dried up so last day is the 20th April so hopefully I can fit in the FET before I get another job.
