Hope everyone is enjoying tons of chocolate :)

CD1 here, a bit earlier than expected. Since the IUI my cycles have been 24 days :( not ideal. Think I'm going to take Angus castus this cycle to try & get it back to my normal 27. We're hoping to have an IVF cycle in July -DH is lucky enough to work in a place where they've been talking about a bonus. We'll know in June whether they'll actually get it, & DH has said he wants to put it towards IVF. We'll see.

    Hope everyone is ok

    I'm another lurker/non poster!!
Happy Easter everyone, hope you're all munching your way through some gorgeous choccy.
Hugs to everyone that needs them (most of us to be fair!!!)

AFM, waiting for CD1 so I can contact fertility clinic to arrange more tests. First appointment with them in May - not sure what to expect (its with a nurse manager, not the consultant). I'm guessing she'll go over our results and proceed with IVF? Who knows! Not worrying about it at the moment cos we're going to NYC in a few weeks so thats taking our minds off it!!

    Now get scoffing that chocolate!!!

chickpea, sorry if you've talked about this before and I've just forgotten but I wondered if you'd ever looked into improving egg quality with chinese medicine? I was cynical about it but the Zhai clinic on Harley St does have some impressive results with couples who have gone through all other options without success, and all their work is based around egg quality.

DHEA may work to improve egg quality too, I tried it for a month prior to my latest egg collection, and the egg made it to blastocyst for the first time today:j

    This is my history:

April 2011 1st EC 3 day transfer BFN
    May 2011 Start Chinese medicine
Dec 2011 Stopped Chinese medicine (doctor's orders) for ICSI cycle at a different clinic (only does blasto FET)
Dec 2011 2nd EC One embryo made it to early blastocyst but arrested.
Jan 2012 3rd EC No mature eggs
    Feb 2012 Start DHEA
Apr 2012 4th EC One blastocyst frozen.

I read somewhere that DHEA is not recommended to those with high testosterone or PCOS, but mine was fine (I have PCO), so I took it anyway.

congrats on the blastocyst QQuaver :) thats brilliant

our clinic has put me on the tetestrogen gel, instead of the DHEA, they said that they used to use DHEA but they have started using this gel for better quality eggs, i had heard of the DHEA, but not using this gel, anyway i have been on it now for 3 weeks and have not had any awful side effects yet:o

Congrats QQ on blasto lets hope its a sticky one.

I mentioned DHEA to my consultant as my egg quality is pretty poor but he said he wouldn't recommend it as its not proven to make any difference and as you have to buy it over the internet your not sure what is in it. I would give it go if I had better quality though.

Hope everyone has a good Easter, I have eaten well too much choccy.

Congrats on the blastocyst QQ - hope next stage goes well too.

Sarah - thanks for the info, may ponder that as a next step - got to clean up my life one way or another, I have slipped into bad alcohol/cake/chocolate habits...

Feeling really fat this morning (and the scales confirm this feeling to be true..)

    Time to sort it out!

How come you're having your embryo frozen and not put straight back in, QQ?

Good luck with the embryo QQ

Primmer - re the HSG: I had to wait 4months just to be sent a letter telling me I could ring on CD1! Annoying isn't it?
I'm not sure why they told you the test needs doing before CD10 though, when they're planning to do mine on CD22?

Hope everyone's as ok as they can be...?

AFM: we can't try til after the HSG, so nothing doing on that front.
On top of that, MIL has taken another turn for the worse, after a hideous 6 months of stroke, heart attck, renal failure, sepsis and other issues... and the doctors pulled us aside today to tell us they think she won't come back from this, we should withdraw all treatment, and that she only has maybe 4-5days left. :( We meet with the Palliative Care team tomorrow, to see if it is even possible to get her home, comfily, to end her days. :(

I can't even tell you how devastated I am that not only could she never meet her grandchild(ren), but we couldn't even share the news of a pregnancy with her  I know she would've absolutely loved and adored a grandchild, and spoilt it to death  She had her own struggles for years with TTC too, including SA issues and MC of twins at 5 months before they finally got DH a couple of years after, so really gets/got our struggle too. :(
