Hi, it was all fine today with the tests. I was in and out in seconds - had drunk lots of coffee and water (I knew about that tip thanks - they told me that last time. It does work, doesn't it?). And I too have had to have blood taken from the back of my hand, and once even from my ankle. Bleargh! ANyway it went off ok.

And I'm another one who has had bloods lost. Completely !!!!!, isn't it? How do they get lost? DO people just look at the blood and go, oh, look some blood. Let's ignore it/throw it in the bin/it can't be important. THe bloody tubes are labelled with your name and hosp number, right? Madness.
  • Hi everyone,

Am having a bit of a down day today. Found out my buddy from the other infertility forum I subscribe to has miscarried her baby at 8 weeks! She found out at her scan that the baby hadn't grown since 6 weeks and is absolutely devastated and I am too on her behalf. She had a chem preg the same time as me and then fell pg naturally which was a lovely surprise.

It has left me feeling quite depressed.

Sorry to put a downer on the thread....

Seeing Nicki's lovely baby has cheered me up a bit tho.

I'm another one who used to be scared of needles until I spent weeks in hospital and got very used to them indeed! But try and put a handle in my skinny hand and I jump sky high - I feel it in my bones all the way up my arm! Eurgh. Far better to just drink plenty as already said - it really does work.

Have to say though it is really, really weird when you are given blood - your whole arm goes so cold and you really do feel in shock for a while! I will not forget that in a hurry... but still thank the person who gave me two units and kept me going!!

So pleased to hear it wasn't too bad today for you Sarah - and Lilo, fingers crossed that results for you both are good news, x

So sorry to hear your news Angela, i hope you can help her and you are both successful soon.

Really glad your blood test went well Sarah, I have never had any problems with giving blood, i think 4 years of test when i had ME gave me enough experience, i now donate my blood regularly and have no ill effects at all.

Well the cramping has eased and is less regular now, so i said i am not going to worry about it.

I am soooo tired today as OH band played a gig last night and didn't finish until midnight and then we had to pack up, didn't get home until nearly 2 and then at work before 8 this morning!!! I really want to get some bding in soon, but feeling this tired means it is very unlikely to happen. Oh well, the weather is really cheering up so today will be a wonderful day :)

  • Hi ladies

Sorry I've not been on here, but I am taking a break from all the ttc madness. Work is really helping, and I am full time again as of next week.

Feeling a lot more normal and positive, my follow up app is next Friday, so I guess I will see were we go fron there. AF has vanished again, but was convinced the old witch was going to come last week, as I was full of PMT like symptoms and swollen, but they vanished. Got to love our bodys!

Sorry to hear your friends news Angela. That is just cruel beyond words.

    Babydust to everyone x x x

Angeldavis, sorry about your friends. Life just seems so unfair sometimes, doesn't it?

Sarah - glad you survived the blood tests!!!

Well, we had a lovely day out yesterday. Went to a few aquatic shops (we are crazy), and then used orange 2for1 cinema offer to see 'The Soloist' (absolutely loved it!) nad had orange '2for1' pizza at Pizza Express as well!

And the best news - our godson (with his parents, of course) is coming to visit us for a week and we will meet New Year together (well, since I have the appointmetn with my consultant on New Years eve, we have to back in uk before then). He will be 18 months then.

So, I am going to do some baby shopping... We need group 1 car seat (I would love to get Maxi-cosi axiss one, and then keep for our baby, whenever it may be), and we need a cot. We thought of getting a travel cot, but after looking on ebay, I can pick up a decent cot with mattress cheaply there, so might have to persuade OH that we do for a real one... Anyway, whatever we buy, I hope to be able to use in not too distant future...

I don't know if any of you are members of it but https://www.fertilityzone.co.uk has been a godsend to me. I don't have the same username on there as I do on here though just incase anyone who might be on there was wondering :)

Thanks for this babymoo, I haven't been on that forum - only fertilityfriends.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Such a shame for my friend.

Well, it looks like AF is going to arrive right on time this month. I was starting to think this might be my month, but sadly not.

Ginvzt, it sounds like a good moneysaving evening you had there!

Well, OH is working at home tomorrow which is nice because it means he won't get stuck in traffic coming home. We are planning to finish the central heating installation on Saturday so we can at last get the boiler working again and have hot water again in the kitchen! Other than that, it will be a fairly quiet weekend. We have been out and about the last two weekends, so a nice stay at home weekend sounds just what we need!

    Have a lovely weekend all.
