Afternoon ladies. Hope everyone is well.
I've got through my first appointment with the hospital for the 29th October (well not through the post yet but it should arrive in the next day or 2). What did everyone else do when they were first refered? Did you take the day off, phoned in sick, or tell the boss you had a hosiptal appointment? Not sure what to do at the moment.

Leigh that is good, i know how u feel tho feels like ages away... not sure how ur clincs work but i was told to ring every monday morning when the clinic runs to see if any cancellations, apparently quite often there is as some lucky girls get pregnant before their appt!

My app was nov 2nd, phoned last monday and got one for oct 19th! Just had a phone call from the consultant gynae that specialises in infertility (of whom im desperate to see, especially after the horrible guy i saw last time) and i have been swopped onto his list :j:j:j
the secretary is keepin her eye on any earlier cancellations for me too :T
  • Well done kmckee999, that is quite soon and the time will fly. getting the secretary onside is a great idea too.

    Definitely agree with this one.

I would also recommend you try to get copies of your test results.

Ours were lost time and time again and I was bounced between the hospital, GP surgery and hospital where the infertility clinic was located with them all denying all knowledge until I created hell at my GP surgery and the secretary started tracking them down. I then demanded copies (and had to get permission from my GP to release the copies!)

I then found when we were referred to urologist for OH probs and then infertility cons neither had any test copies! I was thankful I had been a pain in the proverbials and demanded copies of the tests - I then insisted I kept my copies throughout the whole process. We loaned them to a member of staff for a moment to copy while we attended the Esperance infertility clinic and they temporarily lost them - I went ballistic!

Unbelievable when you have gone through so much and only adds to the stress.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
  • Hi everyone, glad to see a few 'old' faces on here, hope everything is going well FE.Lilo

Hi Lilo - everything 'baby-wise' is going fine (thank the moon & stars! I am STILL in a state of disbelief at times that we are finally at this point!) but I won't even get started on the job problems & family stress...I am just trying to take deep breaths and rise above it all!
Glad that you are back on the rollercoaster Hun - best of luck!

Well i am still struggling with being extremely tired, and not sleeping well, i am a little concerned that i am coming down with something flu like! I have the flu jab as have a habit of having asthma attacks otherwise, and my asthma has been getting worse over the past couple of weeks.

Oh well the weekend is nearly here and my randy husband is off to Krakow with his mates, so a quiet weekend for me :)

I hope you all have a fab weekend :)
