happy birthday, Sarah!!!!
(Oh, and I bought that piano... it will be delivered on Saturday!!!)Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Glad your reunion went well Sarah. Amazing what you can do when you take the plunge!
I actually had something similar this weekend - a party with an old school friend (and lots of other old school friends). My proper friends from school that I haven't seen for a while asked me gently about having a family, and that's fine. Two separate people that I didn't know that well both asked me - no children yet then? I ended up turning to one and saying "no, one of my tubes is horribly scarred and keeps leaking pus into my womb, so now I'm waiting for an operation to take it out. Bet you wish you hadn't asked now..."
Suffice to say she felt particularly awkward and I chortled to myself about it all.Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -
congrats on the piano, ginvzt, hope the lessons go well!

Arf! I actually told one person at the reunion that I had had losses; not how many, just that I'd had them. He said they'd lost one (but they have four kids so clearly not a long term problem for them). I was quite drunk when I told him but it felt like the right moment; we weren't particularly close at college but had just spent an hour having a really good chat about many things, including how he had always wished he had known me better but really disliked one of the people I hung round with (for good reason) and kept his distance. Sad, isn't it? He was really interesting.
And did I say.... my friend and I were the last up, at 5am. Party girls! :T0 -
Hi all
I am new to this thread and need to vent my spleen, so here's my intro. Hope you don't mind!
I am 35, OH 36, TTC for 2.5 years. My blood tests, scans, squirty dye into tubes thingy test, all normal. Hubby has low sperm count (almost half of what is considered 'normal' and borderline motility. We are waiting to see consultant following another round of sperm tests, but if its not good enough, they will not consider IUI and we have to go IVF. I don't think I am eligible for NHS IVF treatment cos of my age and we can't afford to go private, so I am dreading the results.
Meanwhile my 4 best friends are popping out sprogs left, right and centre with no effort. I am really happy for them all, but an emotional wreck!!
Thanks for listening to my rant and good luck to everyone else on this thread.

Hi and welcome weekendpants. You'll find lots of support here.
I'm no expert on IVF (my specialty is miscarriages and blood disorders!) but I thought you could be up to 39 to qualify?0 -
Oh, and stop going on abot 30 - I'm 39 today!
Hiya! well I always thought i'd have #1 at about 30 and then another a couple years later....la, la, la.... so here I am, the wrong side of 39 with #1 FINALLY on the way (guess we may not make it to #2 now, but we'll just have to see where life takes us....) - DON'T GIVE UP HOPE HUNNIES!

Hi Jo,
Someone (I think it was poss. ginvzt?) posted a link a while back to a website where you can check eligibility for fertility treatments in various parts of the country.
I know in some places it goes up to 39 (it does where I live, but I failed on other criteria!), so if the worst comes to, you may be OK. Worth checking into before your next appt I would say, so at least you know where you might stand.
Best of luck Hun,

Hi FE! Nice to see you here!
Yes, I found some infor on IVF eligibility awhile ago, so here it is again (just copied from the old post #257:
P.S. Weekendpants, just checked the table, and it seems the lowest age at which they stop IVF in some areas is 37, most of them go to 39, so unless there are other reasons, you should be eligible for NHS funding.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
