My Af is not an AF as it stopped by lunch time??? oh well prob will get going more tomorrow. Thanks for the response, my gp is quite up on our situation, and have been very proactive up until now, do you think i may be a little premature? how long should i keep ttc before asking for help?

Oh, I don't know - I am afraid it might be worse than I expect it to be... I am still (!!!!) tidying up (no, really we are not that messy...), done the shopping, still need to finish the kitchen and prepare the dinner... Oh well, bette rget going.

Leopardlady You know me from the other thread, Im at the same place as you this is cycle 20 for me and last month I had enough(I found out this little tart down the road was pregnant again to "some guy") and went to the docs they said it was normal to take up to 2 years but theyd still investigate as 18 months was quite a while and took my blood and OHs tadpoles within a few weeks. I dont think your being premature and if you feel you need help go for it

That reminds me, no one on the other thread knows, maybe someone here will, How long do 21 day blood hormone tests take to come back? Iv been waiting 4 weeks on thursday and the receptionist is useless...

my 21 day bloods came back within 3 days. All my blood tests do. I have them all done through GP surgery and not had any that take more than the normal 3 days.

Went to the Dr's this week for the results of my CD21 bloods and swabs. Everything came back fine. My CD21 bloods were 33.5 (I think the normal is 35) but this could be down to having a 29 day cycle last month. So the Dr has referred us on. We didn't have a choice of hospitals though (receptionist said we could be waiting for several months for another one in the region). So we are going to our nearest PCT.

Hi emmzy im here too now, my bloods always came back the next day, but my gp is amazing with me and will ring me straight away!!

Thank u for everyones positive vibes, its sinkin in slowly that i have pcos. Saw my gp yest for advice more than anythin really as my consultant app isnt til nov and he is tryin to get me in earlier! fingers crossed! He thinks they may seek further investigation first before treatment as i may have other complications too... (check my tubes are ok)

Does anyone know what drug is chosen first? clomid or metformin, iv prob read more girls havin clomid but wandered why not metformin as its an insulin based problem

I would go see doc leaopardlady if it gives u peace of mind then there is no harm i would say, may do some bloods etc x x

I'm not a frequent poster but do read often.

I have PCOS. Had my son naturally 6 years ago just as I was to begin treatment. Was a massive surprise. So it can happen.

Have tried for the last 6 years for number 2 but with no luck.

I was started on Clomid and Metformin. However I struggled with the Metformin and its side effect so DR stopped it after a few month. I had 1 cycle of Clomid which resulted in ovulation and other the 6 cycles didn't work at all.

I have now been moved on to Puregon and am just waiting to see if my first cycle is successful. However I am really not expecting it to be. They kept upping my dose and eventually I manged to produce one egg. I have been so stressed recently with work and feel that it will have impacted on my ttc this cycle.

Has anyone ever had injections and been signed off by their consultant during that time. I know they do with IVF as I have worked with a number of women we have been off. But I'm not going through IVF so I keep thinking if I ask they will think I'm stupid. Hate being off sick but with only 2 more chances if this cycle doesn't work I want to give it the best possible chance of working.

Hope all this makes sense, I am a little fragile at the minute and feeling very emotional

Ah plumpmouse if u fel ur stress levels are that high and are strugglin to cope with the fact that is having an effect on ttc then go and have a chat with ur gp and see what he/she says. Maybe just a month to begin with so u can try n relax and hope the medication works

Thank u for ur input i guess i will see which one works best for me? is the side effects betta on clomid then? however if it gets me what i want i would have to put up with it!

I had no side effects on Clomid at all. I do know lots of women suffer with nausea. I used to take them just before bed so maybe that helped.
