Thanks FE & Sarah for the kind words. I think Greenwich PCT have a limit of 35, but our GP said sometimes they go up to 37 depending on individual cases, so I'm not sure. Will check at next appointment. I am 36 in Jan, so !!!!!!ed if there is a waiting list!!0

Hi again! Check the link to guardian I posted earlier. If I understand correctly, Greenwich and Bromley PCT operate under the same guidelines, and it says 39 there. I would print this out and take to the doctor and ask to explain. If not, you could consider moving nearby to get under care of different PCT:o (I have read an article, where a couple did just that and got NHS funding, and were successful - after all, it is MSE!!!)Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

This is what happened to me, was seeing the GP about our infertility for two years and then when it came to being referred for IVF it was a mad rush to get referred before I hit 40 which was the cutoff!
As it happened, we couldn't meet the FSH levels for IVF because I only have one functioning ovary, so had to self-fund.Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Hi everyone, glad to see a few 'old' faces on here, hope everything is going well FE.
I am really excited - I am going for blood tests on Monday, and have an appointment with my fertility consultant on 16th October to discuss the way forward. I am hoping we will be able to try again soon after. The prof told us to get on with it as soon as we could, and wished us all the best, which was sweet. She will hopefully sort out the hormone problems too.

Afternoon ladies. Hope everyone is well.
I've got through my first appointment with the hospital for the 29th October (well not through the post yet but it should arrive in the next day or 2). What did everyone else do when they were first refered? Did you take the day off, phoned in sick, or tell the boss you had a hosiptal appointment? Not sure what to do at the moment.0 -

Hi Leigh.
When I had my hospital appointments I usually booked a day (or a half day) holiday and mentioned it was for a hospital appt.
That way if I got a late cancellation and appt was bought forward they knew I was already waiting to go and would be more open to let me go sooner without thinking I was pulling a fast one.
Also I got on really well with my immediate boss so I told him 'kind of' what I was going to the hospital for and told him it could be a long term thing.
Good luck
shelly
Nothing to report here as usual. Hubby has been away for a couple of nights and is back today, teatime. He will be tired from a couple of late nights and early mornings so I'll have to be extra tempting tonight :rotfl:
Edited to add ~ Meant to say welcome to newbies too:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

That is not bad - just over a month! I took a couple of hours of annual leave. My appointment was at 4pm, so was not a problem. My work still doesn't know about any of this ttc business. When I was going for hycosy, I asked what is the procedure if I need time off for medical reasons, and I was told that I can take it as sick leave. When I had some other appointments, I would usually take annual leave (a few hours per day - I work in consultancy, so all my work is by hours, and as we have flexi-time, I can catch up later/earlier in the week).
My first refferal appointment with hospital under NHS was absolute rubbish - I had to give our history to the nurse, which she had already anyway from GP, so she just kept repeating the same questions... She gave me to repeat blood tests and referred for hsg (with 3 months waiting list, which I had to call the day AF shows up and see if they can fit me in that month, if not do the same the next month). And then I was given an appointment with the consultant 4 months down the line! That is when I got Bupa to "help out". Later on, my GP said that some hospitals operate nurse first appointment with consultant few months later, as this way they can show that the waiting times are short.
Hope yours goes better!!!!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
