Tuff day today, best friend told me on the phone today that she is pregnant with her second child. I came off the phone and cried, though I am happy for her it just made me very sad that it might never happen for me. I am meeting with her tomorrow for lunch and all my other friends who have young kids, it's going to be hard but will put a brave face on.
Good luck sillysausage for scan tomorrow, it all sounds good.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM

Hugs JuJu, BFs and pregnancies are the hardest to handle I think. Hope your twitchy eye has cleared up

Sillysausage, good luck for the scan and ET.
CCM, so glad that your levels have dropped now. Can't believe you have to be referred through drs again, red tape I suppose !
Hi VK, sorry to see you back here but best of luck with the IUI

Juju- I restarted acupuncture the same day as you...I stopped going while I was waiting to have my cyst removed & then thought I'd give it a few months without because of the cost but 'in for a penny, in for a pound'! Im pleased I went back - its a very odd feeling but it really seems to do something.
It's really hard when friends announce pregnancies - some of mine are on their 2nd since we've been trying
It's doubly cruel that the time that we are struggling to conceive a much longed for baby, is the time that our more fertile friends are all having children like they're going out of fashion! I also get invited to more christenings than anything else these days - nice family occasions that remind me that ours is incomplete! Bring back the weddings & 21st!!
Welcome back VK but sorry you had to come back!
Good luck Sillysausage & anyone else going through or about to go through procedures.
Chickpea - wise words as ever, it is the not knowing that is the hardest

Had my day 11 scan today, got a few more follicles growing and the biggest is now 14mm, got to go back again (costing a small fortune in fuel!!) Tuesday. Looks like egg collection will be Thursday now. Was going to have all of next week off but will go in tomorrow as normal, might as well save my days for next week instead!!0

Hi Murray!
(Just about as bad as all your friends having babies is when you suddenly realise that they've all stopped, because their families are now complete...!!)
I'm finding it easier to cope at the moment - maybe because I have gone through all the grieving process and have got to 'acceptance'.
Other people are other people, what they have is for them, not me. Being jealous of them doesn't help me, although it's hard not to be.
Anyway, maybe some of the fertile people out there in real life are jealous of what I have. Everyone has their cross to bear..
I even managed to walk past a pg woman at work the other day and smile sweetly, as if I meant it. It doesn't sound like much, but it's progress - I have moved on from scowling darkly and muttering 'b*tch' under my breath..!
Although I did do that a little bit today in town when I walked past a hugely fat woman and her hugely fat husband smoking their fags in tandem while pushing their newborn and 1yr old around in a double buggy..
+++++++
Maybe Atkins will help. The more I read about sugar, the more convinced I am that it's The Big Evil! I have only lost a few pounds so far - but my cravings have gone, and I no longer have any acid indigestion.
Good luck everyone...!0 -
Pleased all follices are growing silly sausage seems like you might have a nice batch, good luck!
Murray - I agree the acupunture always helps me but also costing me a small fortune.
Chickpea - good luck on the weight loss.
Twitchy eye has gone Staffie, thank god. Had a lovely day with all my friends yesterday (lots of kids running around and babies on laps). What really annoys me about some of my friends they don't invite me to their kids birthday parties because I don't have a kid, this is very hurtful but what can you do about it, i just don't think they think at times. I'm mentioned I could always bring my nephew who is 2 and now i am getting invites left right and centre for me and him.
Down reg scan tomorrow.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM

Hi ladies, just thought I'd drop in and say hello, haven't got time to read back too far but I will be joining you soon as we have been referred for IVF/ICSI - eeeek!!
DH has gone very proactive since we got our results last week, and spent the whole day researching online. The problem we have is that his sperm count is very low, and he is keen to order every supplement going from the internet.
Do any of you have any advice on the best/most suitable supplement? Already given up just about every vice in the book, life is very dull now but hopefully it will be worth it! :-) xxTrying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -

If your treatment's likely to involve ICSI you might find it a bit of a waste of time spending money on supplements which probably won't make much difference. You're not going to be able to turn a very low sperm count into a viable one for IVF by popping a few vitamins. It *might* make a difference if your OH's sample is borderline but if they're talking about ICSI then just go with that and save your money.
TBH, ICSI's fantastic and is the best defence against a low sperm count/poor motility. Have you had a chat to the fertility consultant about it?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Thanks for your very quick reply! To be honest I really don't think they'll make enough of a difference to matter, but DH feels like he needs to be doing something. He has to take a repeat sample in before we go to see the fertility consultant, so we've got a little wait before the ball gets rolling. I'm actually quite excited that they've offered ICSI, it seems like the best possible chance for us.Trying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0
