We're private, so whether that makes any difference I'm not sure. Don't think it's much quicker tho. The Dr was very friendly & didn't mention weight at all (phew!) so that was a bonus too
. Will be keeping everything crossed that you & I boost their success rates
When people show you who they are, believe them the first time0 -
we're private too, but we can't get an appiontment until the 27th of feb at the heath, and we had to wait 4 months from that appointment until the treatment last time, this clinic has given us an appointment for the 19th of jan, and said we would be able to have a treatment feb/mar if we want, which is much quicker, so hopefully if we like it, we will try there too.0

Sillysauage, unfortunately this is my 4th ICSI attempt but hopeing it will be my last.
onestep - all sounds positive hope AF comes soon (now we don't say that very often)
Runner - pleased you got an earlier appt hope you get some results. I have always found it takes a long time when changing clinic because they have to get the paperwork further tests etc but hope this isn't the case for you.
I am due to start down regging on Monday but haven't received my drugs yet (good start). Also as I am currently on the Pill I will stop this on Monday when I start down regging and then i will have a bleed but that won't come straight away sometimes it can take a week and I am due for EC the week commecning 30th Jan, so I am slightly worried that I am not going to have a good lining if i am suppose to have another bleed in next week or 2, does this make sense, should I be worried?BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM0 -
So.. 3 weeks till I go back. What can I do to maximise my chances? I'm going to book a couple of acupuncture sessions I think - anyone know when would be best? Anything else?
If you're facing MF, then I would reccommend it's DH that has the accupuncture and takes vitamin supplements (not the run of the mill ones, they're designed to boost healthy mens count/morph, not men who have issues already)
Good luck. We were looking at that clinic but they haven't even responded to the email I sent them asking if they could help our situation, which doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.
SK xAfter 4 years of heartache, 3 rounds of IVF and 1 loss :A - we are finally expecting our miracle Ki11en - May 2014 :j
And a VERY surprise miracle in March 2017!0 -
Whoooo just given myself my 1st two injections, was worrying about it all day but all went well, don't think I will ever make a nurse though!!:rotfl:0

Good afternoon to you all!
Man, everyone was pushing newborns round Cribbs Causeway today like they'd got them for Christmas.
All I got was a gift set from Lush. Still, at least the bath bombs don't wake me up at 3am. Not after that first time anyway.
++++++
On the plus-side - I am in ketosis! Woohoo! I am going to a party tonight - I'll be driving, so it'll be a sober night, and we have promised babysitter we'll be back by 11pm.
Do I know how to party or what?!0 -
Hey
I am popping in from the 0-12 preg thread just to let you know about a great book that i would recommend, its called Getting Pregnant Faster by Marilyn Glenville. i am a nutritional therapist and this book is about boosting your fertility through diet and lifestyle changes - if you are open to this kind of thing its a great read....nutrition can also support women going through assisted conception.
Also obviously timing of intercourse is key, http://www.fertilityet.org.uk/ if you go to this website and contact them, they can let you know where your nearest NFP teacher is, sessions are normally free. i travelled about an hour to see my teacher, i had two visits and found it very helpful.
Regarding cycles returning after contraception, i came off the pill 6 months before i started trying for a baby and just used condoms. i noticed through charting my cycles, it took about 8 cycles for my luteal phase (days between ovulation and period) to be longer enough to hold a baby, i think the ideal time is about 12 days. my cycles ranged from 40 to 28 days and about months 7/8 settled into around a 30 day cycle. my main point is sometimes it can take quite a while for your cycles to get to a stage where it is possible to conceive following some contraception methods.
also just to comment - i didnt want to be spending loads of money on preg tests, amazon do them cheaper then shops.
i am sorry if ive sounded a bit teachy, just wanted to let you know everything i learnt in trying to become pregnant. luckily we conceived on our 5 month of trying and i am now 10 weeks.

Laura: Thanks for your post. I think most people on this thread know their cycles pretty well, after ttc for more than 12 months. You are lucky to have conceived so quickly, & I hope you have a very H&H pregnancy.

Nil to report here. Trying to detox a little before the IUI next month, so a little more exercise & a little less wine
Trying to work out who to tell about the IUI & who not to. My mum is definitely on the latter list! Far too many questions & it would make the 2ww even more stressful!! Who do you tell about your treatments?
I know what you mean chickpea lots of little babies seem to be around. My neighbour has a really affectionate little toddler, & I get cuddles every time we see her. Lovely but heartbreaking at the same time.

Laura - that's delightful for you. Well done you!
I'm sure your intentions are sound, but your info is probably more useful on the regular TTC thread, to be fair.
I'm sure most people on this thread know most of that stuff inside out. (Maybe not, could be wrong).
If only knowing what to do - and doing it - would make it happen!
It doesn't though, because trying to get pg when you're infertile isn't the same thing as it is for people with normal fertility.
Hope your pg goes smoothly - enjoy your good fortune!0 -
Well guys, its a BFN for me.

Laura, I am sure that you meant well but I found your post to be quite insensitive. As Onestep said this thread is for those who have been trying to conceive for more than 12 months - we know "how" to fall pregnant but our bodies won't do what our minds and hearts pray for. We have all tried various diets and lifestyle changes but for most of us we need the help of science. You are clearly one of the lucky ones. Congratulations on your pregnancy, I hope it is a happy and healthy one and I really hope that you never find yourself on a thread like this.

Onestep, good luck with the IUI. Its really hard to know whether to tell anyone. Various family members know that we are struggling but they only know because of the mc. We have decided though that when we start IVF we won't tell them - for me it would be too much pressure.
Chickpea, All week I keep walking into bumps or newborns. Its been driving me crazy ! Anyway, good luck with Atkins. I am trying to cut out the carbs but might go with a Low GI initially. At some point I really need to clean the dust off my treadmill
JuJu, good luck with the ICSI hun. Really hope this is it for you guys.
Runner, good luck with your appt, its great that they got you in so quick. I have my post op follow up on the same day and I am hoping that my consultant will agree to refer me for IVF a few months earlier than their stated policy.
Sillysausage, well done on injecting yourself. I am not sure whether I will be able to do that ! But then again I don't think I could let DH inject me either
Hope everyone else is ok
