sillysausage, dont worry about your EC, i was so busy chatting to them all about the garden, i did'nt realize they had finished :o

don't plan too much to do next day though, i think most people are fine but i couldn't have done much as i was in pain then, the nurse that it happens in a few cases and they gave me strong painkillers, so contact them straight away if you do, not suffer in silence for hours as i did :o Good luck and i hope you get lots of lovely eggs :) xxx

not been on this thread much, but hope all goes well for you ladies keeping everything crossed for you, back to the gym, had thought I was pregnant at christmas, but not the case, have my appointment for the hsg at beginning of feb (two dates but have to cancel one depending on when period starts), but got news about my father in law tonight and it is not looking good for him. had thought about applying for promotion but think I will have to give a miss (was for other locations not the office I am in) as just lost at the minute with all that is happening.

It's a large, open-plan office that I work in. I have to walk about 60 metres to get from my desk to the loos and I have observed 4 of em of my latest walk.

One of them is married to a bloke I work with, and keeps wandering over to *moan* about the hardships of pregnancy. She's my favourite.

The colleague I sit next to is just back from maternity leave. She hates her job so is planning #2 already..

Print out a copy of the excellent advice that Nicki posted a link to and leave it on her desk with the bit about 'Don't moan about your pregnancy' highlighted in bright yellow.

Congratulations lisap, yours is a difficult tale with a really happy ending. It's good advice to try everything, not least because it's a comfort to feel that you're actually doing something.

I will say though, that there are people on this board who have medically diagnosed fertility problems. No amount of just relaxing and focusing will make the slightest difference to the likely outcome; they need IVF/sperm donors/egg donors/drugs etc.

I used to get frustrated with people telling me 'just relax!', 'go on holiday!' etc. when all the while, throughout those many miserable years of trying, unbeknownst to me I'd have never been successful. People telling me it was because I was too stressed or neurotic just made me feel like it was my fault.

I'm pleased your miracle happened but for people with genuine infertility, there simply aren't any miracles - only medical intervention.

You've had quite a lot of visitors over the course of this thread, and quite a few seem to pop over from the pregnancy thread to impart advice and announce their own news! I just wondered whether when it comes time to start a new thread, it might be worth having a polite sentence in the first post, or something in the thread title, to spell out to those who don't get it, that this is a thread for those who have tried all the regular stuff, and know all the conventional ttc wisdom, but are moving in to a more specialised playing field? I know I am just a lurker now, and you are all far more gracious in your replies than I would probably have been when I posted regularly here, but I still sometimes read a post from a visitor and wince. It does seem to happen a lot more now, than it did when this thread first started running quite a few years ago, and it does seem unnecessary when there are several other threads on the board at the moment where this kind of general ttc advice could be offered without causing anyone any distress, and would be welcomed by those reading it as something new.

Apologies for sticking my oar in. Will go back to lurking and hoping and praying for you all to get good news, and cheering when you do. x

lisap i'm glad things have worked for you, and i know you meant well, but there are people on here who may find it a little insensitive as for medical reasons it is impossible to concieve naturally, and i think i safely say we have tried every alternative therapy going, and many of us have spent a fortune in doing so, we have been told our only hope is ICSI and are currently waiting fot a 4th go, if there was any other option i certainly would not be spending thousands, believe me we have tried them all in the last 5 1/2 years

sillysausage i hope things are going really well for you, i have been thinking of you this morning xxx

hoping everyone is keeping well xx

we are off for our first appointment at the new clinic this afternoon, a bit nervous but hoping we will like the place and be able to start a new treatment soon

i'm off to london with mum in the morning, on the trip i won on the comp forum, looking forward to lunch at the Ritz and seeing mamma mia, will be nice to spend some quality time with mum too, hope everyone else has a nice weekend xx

Runnerduck - hope all goes ok at your appointment this afternoon and you can start a new treatment soon.

Katenut - welcome to the thread and I hope you get your treatment soon.

Sillysausage - I hope your EC went well and you are now resting.

I had my cd21 blood test on Tuesday morning and my DH is planning to do his SA next Tuesday and then at least when the result are in we will have a better picture of whether there is any reason why have been unable to conceive
