You've had quite a lot of visitors over the course of this thread, and quite a few seem to pop over from the pregnancy thread to impart advice and announce their own news! I just wondered whether when it comes time to start a new thread, it might be worth having a polite sentence in the first post, or something in the thread title, to spell out to those who don't get it, that this is a thread for those who have tried all the regular stuff, and know all the conventional ttc wisdom, but are moving in to a more specialised playing field? I know I am just a lurker now, and you are all far more gracious in your replies than I would probably have been when I posted regularly here, but I still sometimes read a post from a visitor and wince. It does seem to happen a lot more now, than it did when this thread first started running quite a few years ago, and it does seem unnecessary when there are several other threads on the board at the moment where this kind of general ttc advice could be offered without causing anyone any distress, and would be welcomed by those reading it as something new.

Apologies for sticking my oar in. Will go back to lurking and hoping and praying for you all to get good news, and cheering when you do. x

I still read this thread regularly but since it changed it's name a while back I feel wrong posting as I have no trouble conceiving, I just have trouble keeping the blighters in! :rotfl::rotfl: So still childless 5 years on and hoping for a miracle just like everyone else :) xx I love reading when things go right on here and heard via FB that Toniq had her lil girl yesterday, Congrats Toniq!! xx

That's fantastic news and thanks for bringing it to us melvis.

I think in your situation then you would be perfectly ok to post here (not that I am in charge, of course anyone can post here!!!) as things are simply not straight forward for you, I believe the previous thread was called something along those lines? Perhaps we could go back to that as people will realise that we have more issues than just relaxing and it'lll happen or in your (and others) case keeping hold of your angels til term.

This thread provides a much needed outlet for many people, and more people read and don't post (I think, I don't know this for sure) and do not feel so alone so I would hate it to get closed or bombarded with (un)helpful posts that make people feel they do not want to post anymore.

Best stop rambling and carry on hoovering anyway!!

  • Thanks epsilondraconis, I cannot belive we have got this far. Every stage of this process is fraught with dissapointment, it definitely is an emotional rollercoster. This is my first (hopefully only IVF) and I really didn't know what to expect. I'm trying to remain level headed about it all and realise that if its meant to be it will, but its difficult not to get excited. I feel so blessed to have got this far.

I really hope that things work out for you, you certainly deserve it x

Epsil I would go back to the PCT as your wife didn't even start the stim drugs and no eggs were taken then surely you still have that go. The cost of down reg drug is nothing compared to everything else. Good luck

    Good luck silly with transfer.

Great news that Toni had her little girl after 6 years of trying and her little girl was a FET too. There is hope for all of us.

  • Hi everyone, had transfer this morning, all gone smoothly. Out of the 2 that fertilised 1 made it, the embyologist was very pleased with the quality of it (8 cell).

Just got to keep it now and get through the 2ww :o.

Thanks JuJu - yes we'll contact the PCT and take it from there.
