My husband took vitamins before he had his sperm taken for ICSI not to improve numbers but to improve quality mainly but don't go overboard on buying lots of stuff as they pick the best ones for implanting. Good luck.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM

Hi All, had my last scan today, it looks like everything is growing at a different rate but I do have 3 good ones.
I'm going to have my collection on Thursday, got all my instructions, just awaiting a phone call for the time to take my last injection tonight.
I am feeling v nervous about the collection, know I'm probably being a big baby but I have never had any kind of procedure before!
We have got to be at the hospital for 7.30am Thursday, gonna be an early start as it takes 1.5hrs to get there on a straight run!
Welcome Katenut, good luck with everything!

Someone posted this on a miscarriage board which I have been reading recently, and it really resonated with me after long term struggles ttc, so I thought I would share it.

If I had my time again, I might send it to close friends and family (not in a passive aggressive way!) so they knew what made me tick.0 -
Hi Katenut, welcome to the thread, hope your stay is short and sweet! Just thought I would let u know OH started taking Tescos own vitamins for men and ate lots of nuts in the few months between his first and 2nd sperm tests. His first count was 16million and the 2nd was 58million. No idea if the vitamins and nuts helped or if the quality improved but we made sure he continued them until the ICSI in December. Unfortunately the egg didnt implant but will be stocking up on the vitamins and nuts if we ever have to start ICSI again. HTH
CD2 for me. Time is dragging until our review appointment. Which I thought was to review the last cycle but the nurse said it was to discuss our FET. So saving every penny now to start that asap. No idea how much a FET usually costs. Dont suppose anyone has a rough idea please?
Good luck to everyone that needs it xx:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -

Thanks for this Nicki. The bit that really resonated with me was the 'Don't minimise their pain' section. I've lost count of the number of my friends (with children of course) who've told me I'm 'lucky' not to have children, that it's 'such hard work' and at least I can 'do as I please'.
I tend to counter it (spitefully I admit) with 'OK. Fine. Give up your kids. Right now. Imagine life without them. It's better to have a life without kids isn't it? That's what you're telling me. So give yours up'.
Ignorant cows. I know it's because people don't know what to say and are probably trying to 'look on the bright side' for me, but, honestly, it incenses me that people can be so insensitive."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
sillysausage, its normal to be nervous but please try not to worry.
I've had 5 EC's and each one has been fine. 3 under GA and 2 under sedation. Which type are you having?
Either way you will be fine, it is all straight forward and whilst you will be a little sore afterwards you should be fine with some rest an paracetamol.
I've also have many other procedures done and never had any problems at all so it will all go well. And whilst the early start is a bit pants it means you won't be sitting around fretting waiting for your time, you will get there, have it done and be resting at home before you know it.
Good luck!
Cake4brians, does your clinic have a website? Perhaps there is a price guide on there. I have had 3 FET's but I can't honestly recall the costs of the actual procedure as I also have to take lots of extra meds and they are always piled in with the procedure on the invoice.
Good luck ladies, i'm finally getting the results from my Hysteroscopy on Monday (had to chase both the GP and the gyane unit at the hospital grrr) and they made me a follow up with the consultant. So we will see what they say and what it means for future treatment, either going again (round 9) or giving it up and adopting, a real possibility.

Lots of appointments in the offing then!
Good luck with EC SS - just one more step on the road to (hopefully) good things.
C4B - I hate the start of the cycle. (Not too keen on the middle or the end either though..)
Lisa - I hope you get there, whether it's via #9 or other avenues. Must be hard - it's life changing really, going through something like this, particularly when it's such a torturous journey.
I'm seeing the FC on 3 Feb - don't know whether it'll just be to say 'sorry it didn't work and goodbye' or whether we'll be offered another 3 cycles.0 -
Hi ladies, just thought I'd drop in and say hello, haven't got time to read back too far but I will be joining you soon as we have been referred for IVF/ICSI - eeeek!!
DH has gone very proactive since we got our results last week, and spent the whole day researching online. The problem we have is that his sperm count is very low, and he is keen to order every supplement going from the internet.
Do any of you have any advice on the best/most suitable supplement? Already given up just about every vice in the book, life is very dull now but hopefully it will be worth it! :-) xx
1g vit C and 1000IU vit E to improve motility and morphology. Zinc (25-30mg) will increase count. Will take min 80 days to see a difference as that's the life cycle of a completely new batch of sperm.
Have a look here, this guy is amazing

hi, ours was just over £700, £646 for the treatment, and i only had to have HRT tablets and progestrogen gel, so the drugs were just over £50 , so it was not too bad
