Anything more than 20 million is considered normal, so yes, he has amazing amount:cool: Morphology/motility is not a problem with that numbers:p

  • Hi all

Had egg collection today and they got.......wait for it.......44 eggs. By the time we left they hadn't looked to see how many of those can be used, they will phone in the morning. Obviously they are now going to have to do FET, right now I'm so disappointed but I know it could b much worse. I suppose I'll have a clearer idea of the situation after tomorrows phone call.

    I Love Holidays - that's a lot of sperm!

Maddie - So sorry for AF

Gin - well done on the scan

Hope everyone else is ok and I'd just like to say thanks to all for their support. Even though I don't post that often, reading about everyone else's experiences is invaluable, x

Tiny - 44 eggs!!!!!! That is an astonishing amount! You maybe disappointed that you can have ET straight away, but wait till the morning and hear how many are mature enough/fertilise. If you get a decent number (fingers crossed), you may have a good number of the embryos that can be let go to blastocyst stage, and the chances of success are much higher then, or so I am lead to believe.

I would much rather had 44 collected last time than 1 that I got.

I know I am much more likely to have a satisfactory result with the number of follicles I have now, but I need to keep my hopes down, as one side (left ovary) can be compromised due to the cyst, and I had last time a number of follicles, but only 1 contained egg. But, of course, all is going to be different now and I am going to be much more lucky!

(Just got back from baby shopping with a friend - our friend had a baby 3 weeks ago, so we were looking for a gift).

  • hi all

    TinyPablo - 44 eggs :D wow!! Here's hoping.. ;)
Gin - fingers crossed for you too!
Chickpea - how are you doing?

Cd 1 for me today :( Am having 2nd (3rd/4th/5th..) thoughts about going forward to IVF.. do I really want to put us all through that, when we're so lucky to have DD already, I'm 40, we've no money, and none of the clinics are very close?? I'm sick of it being in my head all the time, you know? Like the rest of our lives is on hold until this is sorted. I've been looking at the stats for each of the nearest clinics, and none of them are great. So hard to know what to do. I've asked DH to think about it carefully this week while he's away, and I'm sure we'll discuss it again this weekend. Hopefully this is just cd1 talking, and I'll feel better, & more positive by then.

    hugs

  • Hello Onestep -sorry about CD1. bLO*dy AF!

I am CD29 I think and still waiting for AF - BFN though - so having a bit of a longer cycle. Possibly as a response to last month's drugs.

And as if things weren't bad enough already, I have lost my cycle buddy!

I have had absolutely excrutiating cramps this month, both at OV time and the last few days. All calm for now, just waiting for the Red Terror to strike.

    ++++++++++

I hope you come to a decision you're both happy with re IVF - it's not as simple as just doing IVF=happy ever after for everyone, as you've worked out.

I just want to shove my head under the duvet today and hide away - but no chance!
  • hi all, tiny 44 eggs is amazing !!! fingers crossed you get lots to fertilise
    gin good luck xx
