Hi ladies

Sorry for the absence. Of the 44 eggs only 18 were injectable and of thos 18 only 9 fertilised. They were frozen straight away so we know nothing about quality and embryologist seemed concerned that so many didnt fertilise (we had ICSI). I'm back to the clinic in the morning to check for OHSS. I feel ok, a bit tender but my stomach is huge, I look about 6 months pregnant. I asked OH if he thought my stomach was big and he said 'well, I didn't like to say but you have been eating an awful lot this past few days', I could have throttled him!

Juicygirl - well done on EC and your little embies and good luck with ET. Isn't it weird to think we have those little parts of us tucked away in an incubator or freezer somewhere? I already feel so attached to my little snow babies.

Gin - hope your EC goes well. Is it tomorrow or scan tomorrow?

No EC for me yet. I am having day 10 of simulation scan tomorrow. Will see if they have grown enough for EC next week. When I got these appointments, I was told EC could be either Monday or Tuesday next week.

Sounds like OHSS:o

Only eat small amounts at a time, protein only probably. And only drink sports drinks. Your ovaries are leaking fluid, so you are bloated. Any water you drink will leak into it and make you bloat even more.

As for eating small amounts at a time, there's not enough room for your stomach, so any more then you'll throw up:o

Hope yours is a mild case. I think it'll settle down as long as you are not pg and no hcg injection (((hugs))).

CD31 - AF now c 5 days overdue...but not a good thing, coz BFN, yes even with extreme squinting.

I suspect last month's drugs have disrupted things.

And actually, it's not unprecedented for me to have a 30+day cycle, last autumn I had a similar cycle.

I'll just have to sit it out, on red alert so to speak..

Ok, the news is that although I have a number of follicles, they are not big enough for collection on Monday or Tuesday. There are 8 on right side, biggest 14mm, and a number on the left, although not sure how many, she just said that there are 6 under 10mm, and the biggest is 16mm, but this is the side with the cyst, so not holding much hope.

So, I am back for another scan on Monday, got more medication, and if all is well, collection either Wednesday or Thursday. We will probably won't be able to go away for a whole week somewhere, as OH has to be back at work first week of October, but even if it is just a few days by the sea in Cornwall, it will do for me! I am still going away!!!!!!!!

Juicy - that is great news, you have done all you can and I would be very happy with that result. Fingers crossed for blasto stage!

Tiny, still great news for you I have ICSI too and my eggs don't like being injected the most I have ever got fertilised is 3! hope the transfer can happy soon when the OHSS passes.

Ok, I was taking it easy and not stressing so far, but today I am stressed. I broke down in tears earlier, and went to hide in my car.

I as going to book time next week as sick leave for the EC+ day after and ET. I asked my boss it is ok to book this as sick leave like last time, thinking it would all be ok. Well, I think he is not so willing anymore, as he was seeking some 'confidential' input about this from HR. I am the only woman in this place that he is a manager of. Ok, it is a big company, and I haven't met anyone from HR, but I am upset a bit. If I wanted HR involved, I would have asked them directly. So, now I am thinking to book annual leave for next week and take it from Tuesday. That means that I will only have a couple of days between when I come back and Christmas (booked already), but at least I can stop thinking about the work what a mess it all is (it is not just that he ask HR that stresses me, it is also the work that he was supposed to pick up before my last holiday and did absolutely nothing on it until now. Well, he is my boss).

Sorry.... Complaining over (for now...)

Gin, ask your clinic to give you a sick note, thats what i do and most do it, your boss can't argue with that then. I can have 5 sick days off then after that i take it as annual leave. Sorry you are having to wait a bit longer and the follies are not quite big enough. What stim med are you on and what doseage?

I don't care anymore. I just want the time off so I can relax and give myself a chance of this working. I just now need to wait for my boss to actually approve the holiday request.

I am on Menopur, the max dose (450?) - 6 ampoules.

Sounds like a nice lot of follicles anyway Gin, hope there are some optimal ones the next time they check.
