Tiny - 44 eggs, where weere you hiding them all!! Though you can't do ET you have a good lots so hopefully you will have lots that fertilise and have pick of the bunch when it comes to transfer. I agree I would rather have 44 than just 1 or a few.

Onestep - sorry you are feeling down, IVF is a big step emotional and physical and not one to be taken lightly, hope you come to a good decision soon.

Gin - still fingers crossed for you, sending you lots of positive thoughts.

Well I am mighty confused over here. CD21 and spotting brown, not loads but enough to clearly mark a liner. Was rather surprised when I went to the loo earlier! No feelings or pain or anything at all to indicate anything going on either. I have never had mid cycle bleeding and I really don't want it to start up now, i'm a 28 day girl!

Hope all ladies are doing ok, and that all treatment cycles are progressing ok, fingers crossed for Tiny and your huge clutch of eggs and Ginvst and your much improved follicle amount!

    Lisa, lets hope it passes.

Bad news for me today, I was due for EC week commencing 5th Dec and now this has been pushed back to the 17th Jan as the Embryologist is not doing anything in Dec, they said i could have it the week before but it means that my scans will all be late as I don't fly back from USA till the 18th Nov and it all seems like a rush. I don't want to be rushing around when doing this as it can't be good for your body. So I should start down regging on or around Boxing day. I really wanted another go this year but just can't be done. Nothing is ever simple. Sorry Runner I think you were going to be my cycle buddie looks like I will be behind you now.

Tiny - are you ok? Hugs to all who need them.

I have one more day to grow my follicles before next scan. Fingers crossed all is going to be ok! I was feeling rather uncomfortable/achy down thhere yesterday, but I am fine today. Had my acupuncture alst night and going back either tomorrow night or Monday morening, depending on when the egg collection is. It so relaxing, I nearly drift off every single time... Nearly....

I have asked the nurse about going away and she said she wouldn't advice the long haul, but other than that it is fine and lots of couples do this.

We haven't booked anything yet, and we are not going to until we know when the embryo transfer is going to happen (finger crossed), and go away a day or two later. I just want somewhere warm (not too hot), where I can at least see the sea or ocean. I am often in client's office these days by the sea, and as I make the last turn on my road and I can see the sea, I start smiling no matter what the weather - I love the sea. Well, more the look of it, I am not so quick to jump in! Actually, I am by the sea today, and the sea is so calm, almost flat and lookslazy, like it can't be bothered to roll the waves up the stones/shore. Nothing like it was on Monday with the huge waves breaking on themselves and the shore.

I am not doing much different from usual this time. Last time, I gave up coffee, had hot water bottle every evening, no caffeine at all. This time, I have my usual herbal teas most of the day, but also black tea and caffe late when I want one. I only had hot water bottle once, other times my cat on my lap is more relaxing and more cuddly. I have bought some brazil nuts, and try to have one or 2 a day, but I am rather forgetful about them! I am trying not to stress myself out about it all, and just live as normal (or nearly - I still have to remember to stab myself twice every evening!). ok, I am trying to have more protein, so I had an egg in my salad for lunch most of the days, and we are having a steak tonight - but I just wanted it so much last night when I was doing the shopping!

Ok, sorry for the long ramble... But I just need to talk to someone sometimes.

    I know what you mean.

Great news about going away how about the south of france, by the sea shouldn't be too hot.

Hope you get lots of eggs and fertilisation, keep thinking positive. I find the acupunture helps me too and I nearly drop off too.

I wish my cat would sit on my lap and keep my belly warm!

    Fingers crossed for you. x

  • 44 eggs??!!

My egg retrieval for my first ICSI cycle was yesterday and they got 13. I thought that was good! Of those 11 were suitable for use and overnight 7 have fertilised. Does this sound ok?

Now to wait on tomorrow's phone call to see how they are doing.......

Hugs to everyone that needs them xxx

juicygirl - congratulations, you past the first hurdle! I would be extatic if I got as many as you did and 7 fertilised sounds very good to me.

Did they say which day transfer they are hoping to do? Do they hope to get them to blastocyst?

  • Thanks for that ginvst!

I think they are hoping to get them to blastocyst stage for a day 5 transfer (Monday) but they said they would know more tomorrow as the were all still single cell ( which they said was normal at this time ). They are hoping they will have divided to between 2-4 cells by tomorrow.

The waiting is terrible! I keep thinking of things I could have done differently, I have definitely had more caffeine than I should for starters......
  • P.s ginvst - I just read your previous post, best of luck with your egg collection. Like you I am planning on going away during the 2 week wait. We were thinking Dubai but can't decide if this is too far or not x
