Thank you Ginvzt, i am very very grateful to you for you unending support :)
Well we have lots to do this weekend, but will try and have some fun ;) as well! I think i should be ov'ing this weekend, so lets hope he can join in and perform when required :)

Have a great weekend everyone, i am still in the office, should have gone home by 4.30 here, but still been sent stuff to do! oh well :)

    You are welcome ;)
I was planning to go to lacemaking club tomorrow for the first time, but don't feel like it at all. Besides, I have just started my new cross stitch project, and I am quite excited about it. So, don't know... I am not good with people and it takes a while for me to make new friends (that is why I still haven't got any friends around here, even though I have moved to this part of the country over a year ago, I am ashamed to say).

I am near the end of my cycle, so now just waiting AF to show up any day - CD25 today, and my cycles recently have been anything between 25 and 30 days, although on the shorter side in the last few cycles (last 6 cycles didn't go beyond 27). Well, at least I will be able to unpack my clearblue monitor and open the clomid box once AF shows up - there is always something to look forward :o

Looks like my AF is going to be spot on time this month. I was quite looking forward to using my mooncup but hubby has been home the last 2 weeks so I totally forgot to sterilise it and 'try it on (in) for size'. It will have to wait until next month now as I really don't fancy messing about with it while in full flow :o

Well I am really proud of myself. 2 different people in work have told me how chilled and happy I seem at the moment. The relaxing seems to be working.
I'm going to confess something now that I feel a bit guilty sharing with you girls, but here goes (shows how much I trust you all!)
Since having been to the counsellor and the big speech that convinced me that fertility doesn't permanently have to be the foremost thing in my life, and since I'm waiting for my op to remove my tube I've.... ...... ..put OH under a ban. For a fortnight or so we have done no BDing. I'm seeing the consultant this thursday and will see what sort of time frame we're working to. Then we'll decide whether to crack on or stay resting.
Seriously, I think it's doing me the world of good. No wondering this month if there'll be a BFP - I know there won't. And it feels.......well, quite good actually. I'm not suggesting that I'm going to not try for very long (I'm not that daft) but for the moment it's a real holiday. My mental health took a real battering last month with the clomid (actually I think as a thread we all hit a bit of a grumpy low) and I'm very relieved to be feeling back on top of things.

I'm having another night with hubby relaxing over my parents tonight. Is it wrong that we're approaching 30 and we still love being pampered by mam and dad?

Isn't it such a weight off your shoulders when you don't have to wonder about getting a BFP at the end of the month!!
Though that sounds weird coming from someone ttc it is oddly liberating.

Also without sounding too crude :o but the first time you do the deed after not having done so for awhile it is so much more nicer than doing it because you have to especially if the first time is not around ov.

    God yes...:T:T:T

(And I get to tease - it's been a while since I could do that)

  • Hi all

I lurk on here all the time but post only rarely. I am really looking for some advice - I know none of you know me but many of you have done repeated IVFs/ICSI etc so know where I am coming from. Brief history - 8 ICSI attempts (all fresh - none frozen) - have one beautiful son who is nearly 8 conceived on attempt number 2. Would dearly love another child and DS is desperate for a sibling. Question is - do we do it again when the odds seem so stacked against us? I am now 40 so time running out - but I don't seem to be able to move on from this. Would really appreciate a point of view from others who know this feeling (rather than well meaning relatives who tell me to count my blessings....).

    thank you xx

Hi freckles. I've not got as far as IVF/ICSI etc yet.
I don't think any of us here will tel you what to do, but hopefully we can point you in the direction of what things need considering. It sounds like you really have thought about it and have decided what you want already maybe....? If you have the money, you feel emotionally strong enough, your partner is with you in this then I don't see any reason why you shouldn't. I think maybe the emotional aspect is the greatest obstacle. You've been there before, and you know how hard it can be. Good luck with your decision, I'm sure you'll make the right one.

Here's a fertility survey if anyone wants to fill it in - Cardiff Uni.

  • Hi freckles, welcome to the thread. I have been through IVF, trying for no2 and am currently 40. There is not right or wrong answer to this - If it is what you want then go for it. You already know that it isnt the easiest road, but I dont think you are mad, or that you should settle for what you have if thats what you want. For me, I desperately want a second child, my family does not feel complete. If it turns out that one is all I can have, then thats okay, but I cant not try, and am prepared to try whatever to achieve this, although I try and make sure that my hubby and DS dont suffer because of it IYSWIM. What I have is the most important thing.

I hope this helps in some way, although it is very rambling. Carry on posting, it is always lovely to have a new face!

Jiblets, it is very liberating not ttc! During the last 6 months, I have been very relaxed, but now I am coming to the point of trying again, I am getting really stressed, really broody very grumpy and generally a right cow to live with. So I know where you are coming from!
