  • Just popping in, as mad rush today, but needed to see how Winky got on....I am so sorry Hun. Had a little cry for you this morning. I too was almost sure that it was going to be good news. Take some time to be kind to yourself and to grieve - it sounds odd, but my counsellor says that we should allow ourselves to grive the 'potential babies' we make on our IVF cycles, as even though they may not develop, they have been real to us - IYSWIM? It took me a while to get my head around that one...but eventually I got what she meant, and found it helped.
    HUGE ((((((HUGS))))) Hun.

Jiblets - your post made me cry too - but in a good way - your counsellor says similar things to mine!

    Hope everyone else doing OK,

    FE -x-

Glad you had a good time ginvzt, but dont you just love relatives!

I would def get it checked - should has well healed by now. you sound like you may be a potential bfp - if so fingers crossed for you.

    Lilo

Thanks Lilo! Yes, relatives can be a lot of pain in some part of the body. What can you do...

I don't think there is a chance of bfp. Well, we did bd a few times, but to be honest, I am not hopeful. Oh, and before we left for holiday, I got an appointment from my consultant for 31st of December (he could not have chosen a better date!), once I finish my 4 Clomid cycles. Well, at least I have an excuse not to spend New Year with either family and come back straight after Christmas :o

I am back from my holiday. We had a good time, although spending a week with my mum is not easy. I had a few upsetting moments when someone was telling me off for not having kids and 'when I finally decide it will be too late'. I nearly through a glass at him across the table (aunt's husband, not the most sensitive man). Never mind, I'll get over that.

I kept reading the thread while away, and I am so sorry Winky... Did AF show up or there is still slight chance of hope?..

Shelly - glad your appointment went well, and jiblets - finally your had your counselling appointment too! Welcome to Leigh (and any other new commers if I missed).

I have a bit of a worry at the moment. My wound from laparoscopy got really sore yesterday (5 weeks after surgery!). The stitch is still visible, so it has not dissolved yet completely, and I managed to catch it yesterday in the loo after we landed in UK. The was some puss coming out and I got a bit worried (sorry for TMI). Had to run around the airport to find some plaster! So, this morning still slight bleeding, a bit more puss, but hopefully nothing too bad. Well, at least I hope so!!!! I have an appointment with GP tomorrow anyway to get the prescription for Clomid (I am still hopeful that maybe we have done it this cycle, but I also don't believe myself), so will ask to check it out.

Oh well, all will be fine. Need to get weekly shopping done and get my cat back home!

Welcome back! Glad you enjoyed yourself as much as possible and didn't murder certain people who most definitely deserved it!

Just want to add that after keyhole surgery last year one of my wounds did something very similar and it turned out was just a little infected. The nurse gave it a good clean for me, removed the stubborn stitch and it did then heal up nicely after that! So fingers crossed your wound will be similarly fixed and better soon, x

Thanks, I think this is exactly what happened. The stitch 'fell off' last night when I was changing the plaster, and it is still a bit weeping, but no pain as on Sunday. Can I ask how long did you have any pain and how long cuts were reddish before becoming white (I expect them to turn white, right?). I have a tiny cut, which had no stitch, and that is still reddish, and I still have pain around my buttonhole when I stand up after sitting for a while if my trousers start 'digging in', if it makes any sense.

Oh well, I am sure GP will be able to shed some light tonight. Will have to try to beg to stay with this surgery, but most likely it is time for us to find another one (we moved nearly 6 months ago, but I still didn't change address)...:o

I'll bet it feels so much more comfortable for weeping a bit - I know my one did! I will admit to giving it a bit of a squeeze old style and trying to clear the muck - leaving it easier for the nurse to muck about with. Sorry, definitely TMI :p

My belly button seemed to take ages to hurt less, probably three months and it was feeling more normal and starting to change colour - about six months for the scars to look more white and less harsh. Over a year later now and they are all really white - and will fade more yet! I think it is luck of the draw how neat your belly button ends up looking, the scar from mine is really wonky, as though the surgeon was laughing at the time :D

I am lucky - I can't even see the cut in the belly button, as it was done in the fold.

Thanks MadMac for sharing - it helps to know how others have done!

  • Hi everyone,

Well, I can add burning boiled eggs to my cooking repertoire! I was so busy on the site that I completely forgot about them. I actually sat there for a while wondering what the noise was in the kitchen! It was one of the eggs exploding!

    Ho hum!

DH and I are both on diets and have been taking Zita Wests infertility supplements for about three weeks and DH in particular says he has really noticed a difference (my DH is not one for making these sort of comments so I was surprised!) The fertility hormones did make me put a little weight on and I have steadily been increasing in weight over the last three years anyway so losing some weight will only be good for me. DH has put on weight since our wedding (contentment;)) so he needs to lose some weight to get into his suit for a family wedding in September. Am dreading the wedding as all the usual questions about us starting a family will no doubt arise (am feeling your pain Ginvzt!). Isn't it awful how infertility affects so many aspects of your life?

Someone on another fertility site who had IVF around the same time as I had ICSI (both chem preg results) has got a natural BFP. Really pleased for her and hoping I'm next!

    Baby dust to everyone!!!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Ah, but just wait! I had my laparoscopy and hysteroscopy done January 2007, and eventually conceived a full year later . The scar which was neatly hidden inside my belly button fold is now sitting about a cm below the belly button, like Madmac says like a little smiley face. My belly button is still (just) an innie, but as the belly has grown its got a lot more shallow and pushed the scar out for all to see.

Good luck that this happens with you sooner rather than later.

Thanks for that. To be honest - I don't care for these scars as they are small anyway. I am not the bikini fan either, or showing off my belly in summer. In the end - it is your body, and you live with it, right?...

Hope you are keeping well, Nicki!
