Gin, great that you feel good after the appointment. It all sounds really positive and you have a proper target to follow - I am sure you will be fine XX I would research the IUI, as it is five attempts against one for IVF, and they time it really carefully and wash the sperm and put it at the entrance to the fallopian tubes - so may well be worth seriously considering.

roxyfoxy, my consultant was quite happy for me to have acupuncture, but make sure that you go to one that knows what they are doing, cos there are strict protocols that they have to follow at specific points at the treatment to make sure that it supports it properly. Hope it helps you.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    It's a disposable mooncup:cool:

DH is talking about getting IVF, so will book doctors appointment soon.
Not in the UK though. DH is not in the UK and is mega busy, so can't come over for free NHS IVF thing:( I work in the UK, but my job is more flexible and can work away;)

    My history is:

June 2009 Married, got pg straight away (8 days later).
August Miscarried (mmc + erpc) at 11 weeks (baby died at 10 weeks).
    December Re-started ttc.
January 2010 DH got transferred to another country (work)
Last half of Jan/Feb/March We were apart
April Went over to DH at the beginning of the month, right at the start of my AF:o
    Today May 16 CD45 (12DPO). HPT negative at 9DPO.

My cycle has always been erratic since the very begininng, and this cycle was long, I'm on CD45 (12 DPO). It can be short too 26 - 31 days.

We probably can't fit in another ov until July or August since I have to get back to the UK.
I think Clomid might be the way to go to hurry up ov? DH wants full IVF.
  • Hi there,
I hope you don't mind me having a little rant here as I'm feeling rather frustrated (hormones not helping I'm sure)...

I had a mc in Feb 2009 and since then my cycle was really strange (very long) for quite a while. At the beginning of this year I had a full check (blood tests, scans etc) and just as I got the results in Feb proclaiming me with normal hormones and no PCOS, I had my first normal period.
I've had 3 normal cycles (for me) since then, but this last one is weird again. I ov'd on day 20 and today is day 43 and still no period. Pregnancy test was negative a few days ago.
For about a week before I was due I was getting that periody feeling, I was sure it was coming and I'm still getting some slight crampy feelings now and again.

I was reading about chemical pregnancy and wondering if it could be that, but then why would the preg. test be negative?
i was also reading that the luteal phase after ov is quite fixed in length - I counted on my normal cycles that it's 15/16 days, but today it's 23 and no sign of period.

Sorry for going on, feeling a bit frustrated and teary here :(
If anyone has any idea what might be going on, would be great to know.

That may have been your ov;)
  • I definitely had a great big positive ov test on day 20, about a week before the period-y pains....

    Then... implantation pain?
Had it been chemical pg, then hpt might show negative but wouldn't you get AF? I don't know.
Perhaps go to the docs? Get a blood test?

Is that on the couch to 5k program? It's really good isn't it? I couldn't run for a bus before. Have to admit I welched out before the first 20 minute run as I just coudn't believe I would be able to hack it, but will def give it another go when I'm a bit slimmer.

Yes, it is this program - it is really good. I am like you, couldn't run for bus before if I had to! I can now do almost 20 min non stop (ok, I haven't crossed that line yet, but I am getting there, and I have to say, that even though the weight loss didn't really happen, I was feeling much more 'up & go', more flexible, more energy (although, I still fall asleep on the sofa by 10pm)

I know, the numbers might look good and I will talk with the consultant when we come to it, but at the moment looking at the numbers from both hospitals, it looks like statistics is not very encouraging.

  • Thanks QQuaver, I was thinking I might do another pregnancy test tomorrow just to check and then call the doctor.
