Good to have a way forward jibs, and wow at the DH and his information! I have heard the same, but I believe that the increased risk is nominal. I know the bods will only do ICSI if necessary - we have always left our options open and left it to their discretion on the day. They have always screened the sperm sample and taken a decision based on what they find. Ours has always been Ivf, but we were perfectly happy to go with ICSI if they had recommended it. I think that if the embryo isnt developing as it should the body would normally m/c anyway. And 6 months will soon pass. If I could suggest anything, I would say relax for a while and focus on six months time. It is well documented that you relax and may conceive naturally when you take the pressure off (I cancelled my IVF appointment when I fell pregnant naturally with DS - I had been through all the tests and my next appointment was on Day 1 to start the injections!!!!!! So I know it happens!)
Not long to go now nichart! 5lb will soon come back off!

Emmzy - Congratulations!! :j:j Don't worry about MS, me and my sis were due a month apart, and whilst I was sick as a dog, she was absolutly fine! Just relax and enjoy it (easier said than done, I know!)
nichart - Sorry about the 5lbbut GL for the appointment!
jibs - Glad the app went well, I have never heard of ICSI though? Am I being really stupid?
Lilo - Sorry I kept you waiting!Hope this is your month!

ICSI is where a single sperm is injected directly into an egg. In IVF the sperm and eggs are mixed together.
Here's some reading if you fancy it....

I had my CD11 tracking scan today and I am out for the month. I had 8(!!!!) follicles: 4 on left side (19mm, 16mm, 14mm, 10mm) and 4 on right side (18mm, 16mm, 13mm, 7mm). They say anything above 15 mm is viable, so there would be a high chance of multiple pregnancy. Also, my lining is thin this month (6mm), so even if I got pregnant, the pregnancy wouldn't be able to continue and I would most likely end up miscarrying. So, on nurses suggestion I didn't take the HCG shot, and she suggested not to have intercourse this month to reduce the risks. It is my decision in the end, as she said, but I am not sure I want the risks!
Oh well, we all need holiday sometime, don't we!
So, next month I am going on half the tablet of Clomid. Will see what that does to me!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
ginvzt - Aw sorry you had so many follies. How man mg of clomid were you on?
shelley - Thanks for the links! I never knew that before.

It is ok. I think the break will do me (us) good.
I was on 50mg. I asked nurse if I should stop Clomid because both months that they scanned I had more than 1 follicle (last month it was 3). She suggested taking half a tablet as that might help with the lining. I just need to wait for AF to arrive (which is not due for another 2.5 weeks).
Oh, and since I am out for this month I very little chance of having a baby in 2010 (unless I get lucky next month and the baby decides to show up early!). I can keep planing on when should we buy a house (not that OH would agree with me to buy one in the first place!)Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

Aww - well Aquarian babies are better anyway (me being one of course!):D
Ginvzt, at least you know both sides are working OK. I only have one functioning ovary and had no idea until the IVF that this was the case.
Have a break and come back stronger!! xThanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Yes, both sides are working in that they are producing eggs (too many!!!), but I also have a cyst on the left side which came back after being drained during my laparoscopy.
What is worrying me is that the lining is thin. I asked if there is anything I can do to 'improve it', and was told that half a tablet of Clomid might help. Will have to google..
Maybe that is the real problem with me? That my lining is not good enough to keep any pregnancy viable? It is 6mm this month, and last month it was 9mm, which I was told is OK. But maybe OK is just not good enough?!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
